Mugi Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I stopped over half a year ago now for god knows what reason, and I really want to get back into it, but I have no idea what I should pick up. I don't want anything crazy, and it doesn't have to be a kamige or anything. Just something that is relatively light hearted but can have it's serious moments, like Princess Evangile or something. Oh yeah, and it has to be translated Quote
Eclipsed Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Go for the K's. Based on what you've read,Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort, Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate, Kira☆Kira Quote
Deep Blue Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 like eclipsed said go for the k's, katahane, kazoku keikaku, kana imouto and if you are feeling a little venturous go for kara no shoujo Quote
Decay Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 And if you don't mind some gameplay in your VNs, there's always Kikouyoku Senki Tenkuu no Yumina, it's pretty laid-back and light-hearted. Also the fan patch for Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki might be coming out in the near future, which might be right up your alley.(Oh, and also the impending release of Noble Works. Soon.) Dergonu Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) I´d say, definitely pick up Eden*. It has good romance, light and funny moments, serious and more heavy moments that makes for a good contrast, its licensed and fairly short. Its a really good read. https://vndb.org/v1286 Edited December 8, 2015 by Dergonu Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Ever17 is, unlike its premise, more calm than anything. Pretty alright for something lighthearted, took me 20hrs (but I never listened to any dialogue and advanced as soon as I'd read the line). The truth of the matter is that I'd like to help but I've read nothing of the sort. Quote
Maxel Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 As others mentioned earlier, go for K.Good choice would be waiting for full patch release for SakuSaku http://koisaku.org/ It should be released within a month. The game looks amazing, one of the best arts in current TLed moeges.+1 for eden*+10 for Noble Works (Octember hope... Want to play it so badly... FIDDLE, PLS have mercy!) Quote
Stormwolf Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I´d say, definitely pick up Eden*. It has good romance, light and funny moments, serious and more heavy moments that makes for a good contrast, its licensed and fairly short. Its a really good read. https://vndb.org/v1286 Problem being the heavy moments are heavy as can be. I'd not recommend this if you're looking for something lighthearted. Sure, it's a good read, but it'll leave you feeling like shit. Quote
Suzu Fanatic Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 How about Ayakashibito? It can be fairly light-hearted at times, though generally serious. a fairly solid chuuni. (tottallynotbiast ) Quote

Its true that a good part of the VN is heavy moments, but they by no means leave you feeling like shit, and the overall experience comes of as light and rewarding. Moments being filled with emotion does not mean they cant be considered a light read. Guess it comes down to personal prefrence, but I think of this novel as a fairly light one. Kawasumi 1 Quote
Stormwolf Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 While it's by no means a dark vn, it's most surely a depressing one. Quote

DarkZedge Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 MMM what about things like koihime musou or Otoboku? fairly light and fun Quote
TheGuy21 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I'd say the same thing, go for the K's. Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort and Katawa Shoujo. Also, I think you'll be interested in If My Heart Had Wings. Quote
Stormwolf Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Just do yourself a favor and read "Sharin no Kuni" if you haven't. You will not regret it. Quote
