h2311 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hello My Visual Novel Reader has a problem. I want it to translate japanese into english but it translates the japanese into these wierd symbols. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance Quote
Dergonu Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Looks to me like its not seeing the Japanese as Japanese. Have you set your locale and text format to Japanese? If not you have to do that first for your computer to read the Japanese symbols as they should be read. h2311 1 Quote

The text format does NOT require a restart. Changing the system locale does require a restart though. Give that a try and see if it helps Edited December 9, 2015 by Dergonu ops left out a part Quote

Dergonu Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hmm, that is really strange. I´m at a loss. Have you tried doing a fresh install of visual novel reader? You could alternatively try using a different translation program. Deep blue has a good thread on a good, lightweight tool. Other than that I´m out of ideas, sorry. h2311 1 Quote

Yuuko Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I think that VNR was just hooking the wrong thread? Quote
Deep Blue Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 that was probably an issue regarding vnr hooking a wrong thread or not hooking the text correctly Quote
