Funyarinpa Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) FuckGot to Nanako's dungeonmidterms start tomorrowI'm fuckedAlso the moment a battle theme remix kicked in as you talk to Dojima at the hospital fucking ruined meNamatame is a bit too blatant, I'm like 45 hours in so I'd expected the villain would appear later, he has to be a red herring Edited December 27, 2015 by Funyarinpa Quote
Fred the Barber Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 That part hits the feels pretty hard. Fight on, Funya. The game starts to get a little bit harder in that dungeon, IIRC - I believe that's when I upgraded to a Trumpeter, which I think I stuck with for the rest of the game, and started really abusing the insta-kill skills. I wonder how many floors there are. Heard there's a dungeon with nineteen floors, I hope it isn't this one lol. Also, the dungeon theme is feels ;-;In preparation I made a Cross fuse that's like level 58. Most of my party is around 45-50 level (I hate grinding). Going with Kanji + Naoto + Teddie and everything's fucking amazing (MC+ Teddie healing, MC (Black Frost) + Kanji physical, MC+ Naoto magic)Funny thing is I actually Rushed the first half of the Shadow Naoto fight thinking "no way in hell that is going to work" (I think MC had run out of SP), then I realized it was hurt significantly and no one was downed. After Mitsuo it was an utter fucking breeze (Mitsuo took me like 3-4 drawn out tries, then I fused a Black Frost and buttfucked that shit).Heaven is so far the easiest dungeon, usually I had a few troubled floors. Rise's weakness detection ability is a fucking godsend. Quote

Nope, unless the one exclusive to Golden has 19. Which I doubt..19 would be ludicrously tedious. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 In that case, if you're finding it easy, either I'm misremembering (it's been a while) or I just didn't have a good party make-up for it. And I definitely don't remember any kind of 19-floor dungeon... Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Gotta grind for the boss, the whole stat shuffle thing is fucking my party up Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 ENTRY #2: 49:53, 11/07, Heaven (Dungeon 7, Floor 7)Thought I was due for a proper update. So basically, the last 20 or so hours has been as much a blast as any other. I can't believe I'm nearing 50 hours already, normally I only play 20-30 hour games and yet they feel much longer than P4G did so far. It's crazy that I'm pretty much past the halfway point of the game! I don't grind much so I expect 80-90 hours of gameplay (for my first run at least). Man I just fucking love the cast. Apparently I have until 11/20 to rescue Nanako but I've engaged the boss once already, I don't think I could enjoy doing anything else before rescuing her. Is having all my party on Level 60 acceptable to beat the boss or should I grind even more?I love the cast as much as ever but Yosuke only gets on my nerves, he's quite the douche. Usually I don't mind unlikable characters but in P4G I just wanna have some jolly good fun, man.Looking forward to the ski trip like crazy! Should be beach or campout tier. As for Social Links, I still haven't so much as found many of them. The nurse (Sayoko?) is hot but my heart belongs to Rise. Saki's brother has a very depressing social link, understandably. Otherwise I've just been seeking a chance to finalize my Marie and Rise social links. I wanna date Rise already :cGotta grind for even more Courage after finishing the dungeon, I need to have it at 5- I love the dialogue options. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Sayoko is great - one of my favorite characters in the game, despite only appearing in her social link scenes. To be honest, my favorite thing about Persona 4's New Game Plus was that I didn't have to grind all the dating sim-style stats anymore - you can finally go ahead and take the courageous option right from your first day in school. Turnip Sensei Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Haa, all this pure excitement is making me little envious. I wish I could just forget all about Persona 3&4 and enjoy something so innocently once more. Well, I've played both of them at least 3 times now, that's how good they are, but still. There's something magical in playing Persona the first time. Quote

Shadow World is such a fucking catchy song, I detest pop unless it's in a stylish game. Quote

Fred the Barber Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 You screwed up the choices, didn't you? I did too.Anyway, agreed, Shadow World is better than the original opening. But have you heard the Persona 4 The Animation opening? It's even better, IMO. Definitely the best part of the anime series... Quote

Fred the Barber Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 It could be anyone... anyone!*watches Yukiko out of the corner of his eye* Quote
Funyarinpa Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 Not really proud that I called Adachi because looking at any true ending guide spoiled that if your S.Link affects what ending you get that late into the game it isn't something randomI'm glad I could reason it a bit myself beyond "S.Link thing can't be random" thoughJust finished 12/07 so I'm just past the point where I confronted Adachi inside the TV world. Do I need to grind characters I won't include in my party? Thinking of going Kanji/Teddie/Naoto again. Recommended minimum level?I'm also at a loss on how this game can extend to March. I know that Marie has a dungeon, but the current stuff makes it sound like this truly is the final dungeon.Feeling somewhat overwhelmed for some reason (probably clocking close to 6 hours again). Oh man. I hope this dungeon isn't that hard.I want to celebrate Christmas and Valentines with Rise already. Man what a roller coaster today (IRL) was, everything from Nanako's boss to confronting Adachi oh fuckAlso, I seem to be getting conflicting opinions on this: Adachi SL is Rank 1Marie SL is maxedFollowed a guide for the choices so far, doesn't seem to be a problem in getting the true ending (http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/641695-persona-4-golden/69817462)Can I get the True End? If not, what ending can I get? Quote
Mugi Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Adachi SL is Rank 1You done goofed, son. Pretty sure to get anything other than one of the three bad ends (although the third bad end is basically still a good end) you need to have Adachi's SL ranked up to 6 before November 1st. Though I could be wrong, and if so, someone feel free to correct me.Edit: Okay so I guess you just need his SL maxed to get the accomplice end, ignore me Edited December 29, 2015 by Mugi Quote

I'm currently past December 5th which is when you figure out Adachi is the killer (and according to my guide, the last day before March 20th to get an ending). I must have been reading the guide wrong all this time. Oh well, i'm still going to max it anyways. Magatsu Izanagi is too cool to pass up. Quote

Somehow to me it seems like waste to follow a guide on the first playthrough. It's impossible to do everything on one playthrough anyways and following a guide makes you think less on your own, which in turn makes some developments feel less impactful. And you'll spoil yourself as you pointed out. Besides there's nothing horrible obtuse in P4G (other than the Adachi ending and maybe True End) that would require a use of a walkthrough. It even kind of clashes with the theme of the game. Persona 4 is very much about the pursuing the truth no matter what and not taking the easy way out. But it's also about finite nature of time, how you have only one year to pursue what you feel is worthy and live your life in fullest. What I want to say that Persona is best experienced like youth; little recklessly, making mistakes and learning from them, and doing what you feel is right, not necessarily what others tell you to do. Well, good games can be enjoyed in many ways, but since Persona is so close to my heart I can't help but rant a little... Quote
