is not giving you any error is just saying that the update was finished,(already installed) literally プログラムの更新が終了しました  the update of the program has ended(was completed etc etc)

btw patches most of the time are there to fix typos so you don't need them in order to play the novel is almost impossible to find out an error using machine translation

Try playing it without the update patch. I've been using 1.0 without any problems.

For some reason there's problems with using 1.1 since it struggled to hook to the translator.

Well, i don't own it and am trying to play a downloaded copy. Crack gives me a crc error regardless if i try before or after running that update, but that technological marvel says windows 95 on top, so for all i know it won't run properly on windows 8.1 or xp.

Don't know if it will help, but Linux's Wine emulates Win 9X, I think. It's a lot of work putting Linux in vm and then putting Wine, but you never know. You could always grab an obsolete Win 95 and put it into a vm.

Tried 98 and got an error, but not the same one. I had problems installing vmware tools and i just cba to troubleshoot atm. I'll look into it some more anther day.
