my eyes have been opened. :miyako:

Also, if you didn't know, you can return tilled soil to normal dirt by using a pickaxe on it. As far as using a controller goes, it's what I've been doing, and it's worked pretty well so far. It would just feel weird playing a Harvest Moon-like game on mouse and keyboard.

I heavily use the Shift key to turn on the cursor targeting system, which works fine for me. Pretty much the only time I need to target stuff is on the first of the season, when everything has to be tilled again, nowadays...

Also, for what it's worth, I'm totally used to the fishing at this point. It's a combination of training myself and of using the tackle that makes your bar decrease less when the fish is outside it (the only tackle worth using); you can start using tackle as soon as you buy an Iridium rod, which I think Willy starts selling when you get your fishing up to level 5. But that's really only even remotely necessary if you're dealing with a very difficult fish; anything less than a legendary fish is a slam-dunk for me even without any tackle. With appropriate tackle, I'm catching the legendaries I've seen so far about 50% of the time. It's actually oddly gratifying being good at this fishing game, so I really would recommend trying it unmodded.

I'm getting seriously envious of the anime sprites now... I'm still trying to convince myself that I like the originals better because a change of pace is nice, but at this point my brain is just wired to think "so cute!" when I see stuff like that.

Welcome to Milesy Farm, where I wonder how Flutterz managed to zoom that far back.

Spoiler

My opinion of the game is that it's cookie clicker, where you work like there's no tomorrow to make money, so you can use up the money to get more work and make more money.

It's also a waste of time. This game is on the bad side of addiction.

I don't doubt that it requires a certain kind of addictive personality to actually want to play these games. On the up-side, I find that I tend to play them a whole lot for a short time, and then burn out fast. I don't think I've started the game in about a week, nor do I really feel any strong pull to do so. I actually never even got past fall of year 2.

I zoomed out to the max, and then took 8 different screenshots and stitched them together :miyako:

You're right in some sense, it definitely has elements of an incremental game, which is what cookie clicker is. However whereas some incremental games can have enough content for hundred and hundreds of hours of "gameplay", Stardew Valley...

I haven't launched it since I made the screenshots, I've basically achieved all I wanted to besides getting all the achievements, but there's no way in hell I'm beating the Arcade game without losing a life and running around getting 10-star friendships with 8 people so I said nuts to that.

Pretty accurate for me as well (although I'm missing a lot more achievements than that), except that I got 10-star friendships with 8 people at the same time I finished the community center. It seems that, as usual, socializing just wasn't your strong suit.

Nah I'm missing a few more than that, I just gave up early because I know I'm not going to get those anyway. :makina:

Hey, I did at least get (gay) married in the game! So I'm at least a bit better at bringing girls salads in-game than I am irl.

Dude, you had to walk, like, 5 feet from the bar counter to bring that girl her salad. I'm surprised she didn't start mistaking you for the waiter.

Not true, I was usually sleep by the time people went to the tavern, so I stocked up on salads and went around looking for her during the day.
