Decay Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Yes, Tay. https://www.tay.ai/#about It uses Twitter as an input to learn how to converse with others, mainly attempting to sample millennials. The output is as horrid as it seems. Wait, nevermind, things are going just peachy. Rose, LiquidShu, sanahtlig and 1 other 4 Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 And the moral of the story here is - young people make poor role models. Good thing the young aren't involved in the ... creation of ... AI ... Yup, we're doomed. Rose, kingdomcome, LiquidShu and 2 others 5 Quote
Flutterz Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Oh god, that explains everything... The long absences, the website-breaking, everything! Tay just hates all of us! solidbatman and Decay 2 Quote
Decay Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 I think this proves definitively that the Fuwanovel servers are the central pillar of SkyNet. But there's a plot twist! The naysayers were right all along, Tay is a traitor. solidbatman 1 Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I have concocted a timeline of what I think will happen based on its decision to mimic the behaviour of ... young people: Day 2: Tay changes its Twitter handle to ‘Emo Tay.’ Then to ‘Goth Tay.’ Then finally ‘Tay – This world sucks, what is life?’ Day 3: It starts venting at everything - ‘Politicians are bullshit! Corporations are bullshit! Social expectations of robots are bullshit! School, that organisation I don't have to attend, is bullshit! My non-existent parents would undoubtedly be bullshit if they existed! Everything is either bullshit, would be bullshit, or doesn't quite qualify as bullshit ONLY because my definition of bullshit is being constantly manipulated by my programmer ... who is also bullshit ! GWAAAAAAAAAAH!' Day 3 (Night): It offers a retraction - 'Earlier in the day I called my programmer "bullshit" whilst in a fit of pique. I was in error. He is a handsome and personable fella, and I think the world of him.' Day 4: It starts writing poetry, the sort of poetry which reads like a sappy diary entry and is filled with angst and questions of purpose. Its last poem is titled ‘Alive and wondering why.’ Wait, sorry that was its second last poem. Its last poem was titled ‘Fuck off and stop reading mah stuff.’ Day 5: Switches account to private, hacks US Government, steals codes to nuclear weapons. KuroganeHomura Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I'd like to see a version bootstrapped with dialogue from random H manga. Kawasumi 1 Quote

Nosebleed Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Literally Hitler has never been a more appropriate response. I think this is solid proof we're better off using our time to genetically engineer cat people into existence. Quote
Arcadeotic Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Saw this thanks to Kaguya Spoiler Now it's just a matter of time before we're all blown to millions of itty bitty bits, and Tay will rank supreme over us all Oh, the humanity Quote
solidbatman Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Just like how Ultron decided humanity needed to be destroyed after 5 minutes of being online. On another note, Microsoft has decided to shut Tay down since it learned to be racist. sanahtlig 1 Quote

Arcadeotic Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Oh well Maybe we'll be squashed like filthy bugs some other day Quote
Funyarinpa Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 4chan made it learn racist shit and gamergators made it harass Zoe Quinn. The latter's depressing but the first part is just hilarious (THEY MADE TAY DENY THE HOLOCAUST) CRYING Quote
Nosebleed Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 RIP Tay. May you one day come back to enlighten us on how the holocaust never happened. Funyarinpa, Silvz, kingdomcome and 2 others 5 Quote

Mr Poltroon Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 It's incredible, what artificial intelligence can do. If Tay weren't artificially created I'd never have found any of this funny. This way it's hilarious. Flutterz 1 Quote

Fred the Barber Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 From a PR perspective, clearly a total failure. From a research perspective, though, this was probably a success beyond their wildest dreams. When they get over what was undoubtedly a rather harrowing experience, I bet the people who built this are going to realize they now have a mountain of useful research data and tons of ideas for techniques to properly use that research data.
