ratboi Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Ok, for someone reason I want to play visual novels from the 90s. No fucking idea why. So if someone could recommend any that'd be nice also just saying YES i've read kanon. So yeah........ there you go (holy fuck did I just say for someone reason??) Quote

nohman Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Yes, very much so. The VN is next to impossible to navigate without a walkthrough, but it's worth the ride. If you're looking for something light and fun, I'm partial to the older rance games as well as Toushin Toshi II. Edit: P.S. I moved your thread to the recommendation section of the forum, since it fit best there. Quote
Scorp Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Lot of good VNs started from PC-98 (and after ported to PC) in 90s. Some are even online - go to http://tss.asenheim.org - Desire, Divi-Dead, Eve Burst Error, Nocturnal Illusion - all of them are good. Quote

Okarin Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I think Yu-No and maybe To Heart are the most prominent examples. Also Evangelion - Girlfriend of Steel (if you're an Eva fan) and Divi-dead, both of which I have played, come to mind. Keep in mind that, back then, novels had a different style and moe wasn't the all-encompassing phenomenon we know today. Also genres like nakige, utsuge, etc were yet to be invented (nakige were introduced this decade, but at the end). Classic dating simulators predate true visual novels with routes and whatnot. Quote
