FriendlyFire Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I was thinking about buying Oculus Rift Development Kit. I would like to know if someone have it and his experience with it, also in wich games have tryied it out and if it's a good choice to buy it or better to wait till de commercial one! Quote
shcboomer Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hmmm I'm wondering if anyone here has tried it as well. Maybe I can get a kit in for an article. Quote
FriendlyFire Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 This might help. Or not>> Every extra information of the Oculus Rift helps. Thanks. Quote
Widi Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 the price is $300 see the developer page personally i prefer to wait the commercial one Quote
Kendjin Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I got a shot of a dev model (not to take home sadly), it feels like a dev model, the commercial one I imagine will be less bulky Quote
FriendlyFire Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 the price is $300 see the developer page personally i prefer to wait the commercial one Yeah I've already seen the price and I'm able to buy it, that's not a problem. I got a shot of a dev model (not to take home sadly), it feels like a dev model, the commercial one I imagine will be less bulky Bulky? I imaged that. Better I should wait, maybe the commercial one have more screen and better software. Thanks people! Quote
FriendlyFire Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 the dev kit has 720p resolution, while the commercial one will have at least 1080p, so yea, you should wait, unless you have money to waste or a game to develop :)/>/> I thought of buying it because I have a future plan of making a virtual reality, adding a pair of light filters from the outside and making the image come to a screen so you can load sprites and other stuff so you are able to see watch you want... Incluiding a world based in anime, damn, imagine seeing everybody as anime characters! or a world based on Marvel comics, what you like the most (warning of severous headache). Quote
FriendlyFire Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Yeah just like that. I know that in the begining Ill need a lot of workers and a lot of work to do, also in the developement phase workers should use computers for processing the data but tech evolve really fast, right now AMD is working on processors that have a powerful graphic card integrated so I expect after years of work to show it able to process data without computer, cables and use an USB memory to load data in the machine. Sent with SONY XPERIA U Quote
Lewycool Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I picture this happening a lot with the Oculus Rift on my head Quote
DeadIEnd Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Someday I'm gonna purchase it. Even in the Afterlife/Next Life. xD Quote
Kaguya Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I don't have experience, but it looks awesome! I'd say you should try it~ Quote
