MarcomiX Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Hello there! I noticed there wasn't any thread about Go Go Nippon, so I decided to create one. What do you think about the 2016 version? Did you like the new endings? I pesonally found them to be rather anticlimatic compared to the older ones, in which even the "normal" endings are incredibly satisfactory. Moreover, Do any of you know how to unlock the "B" routes with each character? Now that the new endings are introduced, I dunno how to actually trigger the previous "perfect" endings. Quote
Plk_Lesiak Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 (edited) I have to admit I find the route structure of GGN now confusing as hell, due to the number of options. I've played through most of it and if someone told me that some events and the ending you get (apart from which girl you end up with) were random I wouldn't have many reasons to question that. Not that I cared enough to find out how it truly works though. In general, the game has tons of content and most of it of decent quality, but I really don't like that they didn't do anything to the structure of the game, basically forcing you to replay it over and over again to get through all the sites and events. Moving those new locations to a "second trip" with some romance continuation would be a much more elegant way to do it, but I guess it would take too much work. Stormwolf Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 I'd love to play a dating simulator where you need to use your brain in order to get into a heroine route. Not just blind luck and choices that makes no sense, or blatant heroine oriented choices. Saying and doing the right things to heroines based on their personality and such. Gifts COULD be cool, but can add a "how the fuck should i know" factor. Is this a bit like that? Quote

You have three days to go sightseeing around Tokyo. You choose one location on every day. At every site, one of two girls will be your guide. Go with a girl more times than with the other one = romance. At least that's how it was in the original version. Now there's a ton of sightseeing spots and different events and endings that can trigger depending on where you go. The romance-related mechanics though are still as dumb as they ever were and as far as possible from demanding any kind of "skill" from the player. Edited December 17, 2017 by Plk_Lesiak Quote

At least, in the 2015 version you know how to get the ending you want! But I must admit that the 2016 version implemented some good parts, such as the "uniform" one and the Kyoto night stroll...the problem is that the new endings just sucks (I only played the Akira route so far). Even the "normal ending" is just better than the new one. I noticed that the drawing style is different in the new scenes. the faces used to be "softer and rounder"...now they're more on the "sharp side". Anyway, I think Go Go Nippon is the perfect example of a VN in which it's hard to choose who's the Heroine you like the most: Akira is the perfect, cute tsundere; while Makoto is kind, mature, romantic and beautiful. If I'm forced to choose between them, well...I simply can't choose. Quote
