Moenovel will never release anything 18+, our only hope for getting official 18+ Pulltop games in english is if they die. Now that they have gone to other things than Pulltop games they are even more dangerous. We really should try to take them down by spreading information on their practices.

The first is definetly true. Some lines just didn't flow very well and if you turned the Translation Notes on in game (I regret doing this, but I wanted to check what exactly they were making notes for), an explanation of the literal translations of kanji puns they made would appear every twenty minutes. I can't judge the second one because I didn't read it in japanese.

I think some things in that description are explained only in Miki's route. That's like halfway through the game, not cool.

It seemed to me they're just saving themselves of the trouble of explaining later on "no, your game is fine, it's looping on purpose".  But yeah, that Kiri CG shouldn't be there AT ALL.

I am not talking the description. It's spoilerous, and I wrote it myself in the previous post. I'm just saying that the tags, on the other hand, are not that spoilerous, and it's probably an acceptable level.

There are studies indicating spoilers make people enjoy things better. While this is no exact science, clearly this shows that this is but a carefully thought out marketing decision.

I feel like it's necessary to spoil CC to an extent when marketing it to people. We're talking about the basic premise of the game here. I wouldn't write a marketing pitch without that. I understand that some people would enjoy the game more if they didn't know that, but if you're that kind of person then you shouldn't be reading game summaries at all. Look at the score on VNDB and make your decision based on that.

if you're already expecting violence, the massacre on the rooftop at the end of Misato's route will have less shock value and emotional impact.  There's no reason to mention that CC has violence, since Steam doesn't require ESRB ratings or descriptions of potentially offensive content unless it's really extreme.

I also don't really think that just because other games have even more spoilery tags excuses doing it at all.  Compare the Steam page's tags to the VNDB page's unhidden tags, and tell me they don't at least partially spoil what's going to happen.

It makes sense, and I agree that the enjoyment of the story will probably be the biggest if you don't know that stuff, but let's be real, many people who are going to buy it on Steam never really heard about this VN or about what makes it good. The first route is literally presented as a simple moege, you don't even know at first that they are alone in the world, but practically all description of CC I've ever seen mention it. Spoiling important plot point from the middle of the game is really unnecessary. As for those tags? I'm not so sure.

Actually, about the spoiler in the description. I wonder, for Japanese VN fans, is the

timeloop in the story

a "Luke, I am your father" type of spoiler: it exists, but everybody know about it?

@bakauchuujin not trying to defend the way they localize, nor even wanting to, but frankly speaking moenovel (e.g. willplus) simply does what others didn´t.
seriously now, not like they haven´t been licensing stuff to jast/mangagamer/whomever before, not like they aren´t willing to do so even now, so yeah, if none of the others seemingly gave a fuck about going for cc, they could´ve only done it themselves, or giving a fuck about it as well.

I'm willing to bet the resolution thing is just them taking screenshots on their 1680x1050 monitor fullscreen in stretched mode and not thinking about how bad that looks when submitting those shots to Steam. I doubt that's the actual native res. I really hope it's not. That wouldn't make any sense.

The sad thing about it is it can be fixed by like ... inserting 2 words and joining a sentence together. A 2 second proofread could have saved much mockery and laughter:

The school club the protagonist and friends belong to. Working mainly on the school roof, they assembled an antenna etc etc

It's definitely a bad sign of what's to come with this release.

I guess we'll have to have a thread to judge what is the worst CC TL once this comes out.

Fiddling lewdly with the school roof, they managed to coax out an antenna which they then began to abuse. Much later they would also use this antenna to send out radio broadcasts ... of a questionable nature.
