onorub Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 What is your favorite VN trilogy? For me it's a tie between the MajiKoi 1-S-A trilogy and the modern Ikusa Megami Zero-Verita-Memoria trilogy. However, if Kara no Shoujo 3 turns out to be as good as the other two, that will end up being my favorite. Quote
Otaku1612 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Because it's the only trilogy that I've actually played the entirety of, the Galaxy Angels trilogy has to take the place almost by default. Still certainly worth playing through since the gameplay actually required some thought, and does actually get very tough later on in the trilogy. That, and there are some good romances which don't ever go down the H-scene route since I think it's a kid's game (I mean this literally, not in a derogatory way). Just nice to have a game without h-scenes that didn't apparently mean I was missing out on actual story content, though on that note I'm at some point going to finish the Grisaia trilogy from Steam. Go localisations, even the censored ones. Ranzo 1 Quote
VirginSmasher Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Definitely either the Grisaia trilogy or the current Kara no Shoujo trilogy of Cartagra and KnS 1 and 2. Both of those trilogies are great. yelsha57 1 Quote
mitchhamilton Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 nekopara. but if majikoi counts, i guess the majikoi trilogy. also just remembered there are technically 4 nekoparas but, eh. tis only a joke. Quote
Kaguya Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Rose Guns Days, which is also my favorite VN, period. Quote
tymmur Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I can't see any way this thread can avoid getting a reference to this monologue (it's just 10 seconds, not the whole video) Quote
Inorin Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Muv Luv. Only Muv Luv (ok Extra is the exception but still) Overlord87 1 Quote

It's just wonderful. Edited March 30, 2018 by Ranzo Otaku1612 1 Quote
DarkZedge Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 It's hard to pick but I'd say between the Grisaia Trilogy - Majikoi Series & Cartagra/Kara no Shoujo ep 1 & 2 Quote
Clephas Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 There aren't many VN trilogies relative to the number of individual one-off VNs out there... but if I had to name the one that comes to mind (since Tiny Dungeon is technically five games) I'd say Akagoei. Quote
Kabu Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Probably Da Capo though Majikoi is a close second. I haven't yet read Kara no Shoujo or Galaxy Angel (despite my best attempts for the latter) and as far as Grisaia is concerned I'm not all too interested in Meikyuu or Rakuen. Quote
tymmur Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Utawarerumono. It has one major flaw though and that is only the first is released for windows. This mean my knowledge of the second title comes from the anime (which for Utawarerumono is very close to the VN), but I don't know the last. Still of all the trilogies where I know at least one title, this one comes to mind as the best one. Quote
Acrylic7 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Muv Luv simply because it's the only trilogy that I've played Quote
Freestyle80 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 the only trilogy i've read is Grisaia or Majikoi, never had the chance to go through Muv Luv yet had more fun reading Grisaia since it was one of the first vns i read that had a badass lead and reading the sequels didnt disappoint either 14 hours ago, Clephas said: There aren't many VN trilogies relative to the number of individual one-off VNs out there... but if I had to name the one that comes to mind (since Tiny Dungeon is technically five games) I'd say Akagoei. Man i really wanna read AkaGoei, from what i've heard it seems like a cool title (and i liked most of Akabeisoft's titles) Quote
Thomas Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Hmmmmm Probably Majikoi and a close second is DaCapo and Grisaia Quote
Pomelo Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) I'm totally counting Kara no Shoujo. Cartagra is okay, but KnS is my favourite visual novel. The second one was also very good, so I have high hopes for the final episode. Edited March 31, 2018 by Pomelo Quote
fun2novel Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Can I name three trilogies? Infinity series, Zero Escape trilogy, and the Shinza Banshou trilogy. Quote
yelsha57 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 (edited) Danganronpa , Grisaia , and Muv Luv even though I need to read V3, Eden of Grisaia, and Alternative I will say both of those vns are my favorite trilogys. I haven't read Zero Escape yet but I will. Edited March 31, 2018 by KanadeTachibana Quote
