Vokoca Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Playing tiny bits of Dark Souls 2 here and there, though I feel like I'm going with the wrong build. The club sure is great when you hit stuff with it, but it also seems to make everything unnecessarily hard and frustrating due to the almost non-existent mobility. I almost feel like starting a new character. Other than that, might jump back into Neptune Re;Birth 2 some more over the weekend. I still can't get over the fact that Pururut isn't even a DLC this time... she'd better be hidden in the game somewhere or I'll go pay Compile Heart a visit when I go to Japan this summer. D: I was also curious when I saw Drakengard 3 but I never played any other game in the series. So I decided to just start at the beginning and check out the first Drakengard, not sure what to think yet though... reviews I've read of that game either say its really good or really bad. Drakengard 3 is a prequel, so you don't really need to know anything. I've jumped in after playing nothing but Nier, and I was fine, it didn't really rely on the knowledge of the other titles. The most you'll miss are some references. Though starting with Drakengard 1 can't hurt - I did hear the second one isn't any good when compared to the first one, though. Quote
FruitsPunchSamurai Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Drakengard 3 is fun. Who cares if the gameplay has flaws this is so damn fun. Haven't felt this excited playing a game like this since God Of War ascension and Metal Gear Rising. Story is good so far, just wish Zero had more depth to her character. This soundtrack is amazing. About to get started on Wolfenstein: The New order. TIME TO KILL SOME DAMN NAZIS Quote

This means I can also just finish 1 now because I already started it anyway, and maybe just play Drakengard 3 after instead of playing 2 and Nier first. But I understand Nier was also good, but just had an unsatisfying ending? Quote

TIME TO KILL SOME DAMN NAZIS There's more depth to Zero than just "I'll kill everyone!", but you won't really see any of it up until the first ending. Oh I didn´t know it was a prequel! But I understand Nier was also good, but just had an unsatisfying ending? No, no, Nier is great - and the ending is amazing. Hell the ending is what makes the story so good - especially when you replay the game and go for the further endings, that's when the game hits really hard. When it comes to the story, Nier is my favourite from the franchise (well, still haven't played Drakengard 2), you definitely shouldn't skip out on it. I'd go as far as to say it was my favourite story of last gen. And the OST is simply magical, the best of the franchise too. Drakengard 3 has a tie-in with Nier in the last ending (maybe in the honour of the first Drakengard's last ending being where Nier starts off from), so you might want to play it in the Drakengard 1 => Nier => Drakengard 3 order to get the most lore out of it, but it isn't strictly necessary. SilverLi Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Started playing Crusader Kings 2 this week. But I think I need to stop buying new games for a while. My playlist is probably for a year or two. Quote

O well then I'll just play everything! Drakengard 1 -> 2 -> Nier -> 3 It will take a while but it sounds like its worth it. And I like to complete things anyway, so I'll do this. Looks like next month will be rpg month for me! (ノ・ω・)ノ Quote
Darkshine Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I'm getting into Record of Agarest War now and seeing were it takes me. Quote

nohman Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Catching up on Telltale games: Episode 3 of both TWD and TWAU. As a side note, I'm pretty excited for Watch_Dogs this Tuesday. Quote
FruitsPunchSamurai Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Wolfenstein the New Order. It's so damn fun killing these Nazis. There should be more single player only Fps' like this. Quote
Kendjin Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 My signature is enough, right?~ I like that it shows Dynasty Warriors 8, I loved it Quote
Satsuki Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I like that it shows Dynasty Warriors 8, I loved it still not sure if it's really worth the money, the eternal loading is quite annoying sometimes, haha~ Quote
nohman Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I've been doing a little bit of PvP in Dark Souls 2. The cheese hasn't made me quit the game. Yet. Beyond that, (as always) I've been playing Hearthstone. Quote

Beyond that, (as always) I've been playing Hearthstone. Lightning Defender's Greatsword +5, 50+ Faith, wreck faces. What I did, personally. On-topic, I'm playing some Gyakuten Kenji 2 and waiting for Transistor to be patched because it still crashes on my PC. Quote
nohman Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Lightning Defender's Greatsword +5, 50+ Faith, wreck faces. My build's alright. I mainly use a Lightning Chaos Blade +5 w/ Sunlight Blade. The damage is respectable, but all the Havelyns and Havel Mages running around are still a source of frustration. Quote
K450 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 This game, man. Seriously, this game. 11 hours spent getting to this ridiculous mana pool, around 68 septillion total mana. The cost for this gem alone was 130 septillion. At the moment I have 126 septillion mana. Quote
Nagisa_Fawkes Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I finished Mass Effect 1 yesterday, will be starting the second game today, going for the Tali route. Quote
Satsuki Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I finished Mass Effect 1 yesterday, will be starting the second game today, going for the Tali route. Ah, Glitch Effect... Not a bad game, but bugs and glitches everywhere is quite annoying~ Quote

FruitsPunchSamurai Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Watch Dogs. Huge disappointment so far. Doesn't look like a next gen game at all. It has lots of cool mechanics with the hacking and stuff but overall nothing special. Not to mention Aiden is such a horrible MC. (Don't wanna spoil so not gonna say much more about him.) It's not bad but this feels just like any ordinary open world game. PC version is probably better. Quote
nohman Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Putting quite some time into Watch Dogs. I'm pretty satisfied with it so far, though I haven't broached too far into the open world, side-quest aspect of it yet. The profiler is greatly. amusing. My only real complaint is how the game runs on an AMD card. Luckily, the beta drivers released today seemed to alleviate some of the performance issues. Quote
Ivan A. Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Wanting to speedrun Planet Wisp Act 2 in Sonic Generations PC. In one word: FRUSTRATING. Also playing for the 1000th time my favorite game of all time : Sonic 3 & Knuckles with Sonic and Tails. Quote
zoom909 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I finally got a used ps3 off of ebay. Naturally, the first game I picked is Project Diva F. The game is fantastically fun. Bargains come to those who wait. The special controller was no bargain, though...oh well. Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 XCOM. I wish there were more games like it *patiently waits for Warmachine Tactics and Steam Squad* Quote
