Darklord Rooke Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Divinity:Original Sin has shifted 160,000 copies mere days after it was released. So a big FU to all the publishers out there who thought isometric old school RPGs with complexity, tons of text, and a turn based combat system would never sell. Because not only is Divinity going to be a financial success, it's going to be remembered as one of the greatest CRPGs in recent history. Rooke out. BookwormOtaku 1 Quote
Cyrillej1 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 MetalUpa1014 convinced me to get Time Travelers for the PSvita since I like time-traveling themes. Soo~ I'm looking forward to trying it out, and hopefully my Japanese level would be sufficient enough to at least know whats going on, lol xD. Quote
Stray Cat Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Finally getting around to Ace Attorney 5. Just as good so far. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 MEGAMAN X IS THE BEST This coming from the guy who actually liked MMX7... Quote
zoom909 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Yeah, Megaman X is a classic. I played a classic the other day called Strider. If you're into classic games you should check it out. Right now I'm still playing Project Diva F. The game really shows its true character only when you reach the Hard levels. My favorite songs so far are Weekender Girl, World's End Dance Hall, Freely Tomorrow, Sweet Devil, my least favorite is Rin-chan Now Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I really don't think much of anything Vocaloid-related. It honestly doesn't seem all that great to me. But yeah, I've played Strider before. I thought ninjas were supposed to sneak into buildings and assassinate specific targets, using murder only as a last resort? The music was okay, but it got on my nerves after a while. Otherwise, the game was okay. I recently found an old Klonoa game stashed away in the dark recesses of my inventory. I played it again, and I can see why I quit it, but I can't see why I ever forgot it. Klonoa's old games were awesome. Aside from Sonic, this guy used to be my absolute favorite game character. Quote
LiquidShu Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Osu! IT'S GOING MAD WITH THE RAN RAN RU.. Now you see I would be playing Osu! however carpal tunnel stops me after like three fucking songs. GAH Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 You think that's bad? Cookiezi plays songs insanely fast. He's a god among Osu! gamers. That is, if he isn't hacking. Quote
crunchytaco Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I was playing Love Live School Idol until I ran out of LP. Sigh with these app games. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 So basically F.E.A.R. 2 decides to show you rising levels of horror, from generic to scary? And thanks for spoiling that little tidbit, I was planning to play it sometime. Quote
crunchytaco Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I'm trying to get back into Icewind Dale again. It's a classic CRPG using an older Dungeons and Dragons ruleset. If anyone wants to join me, you're welcome to saddle up. It can be played up to 6 people at a time. Quote
Flutterz Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 How is that spoiling? Alma is in the entire game, there's blood in every level, and the flashlight bugs out constantly after you play for more than the first few sections. All I said that could be considered spoilers is that part of the game is scary... I think he was trying to make a joke... and I think he's forgetting about Poe's law. Quote

I had my eye on this but still on the fence. I love the turn based combat in titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyria Chronicles and even JRPGs. I however don't like Bioware's combat system that is actually real-time with pause (Yes, I'm one of those RPG souls who never got into Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights or Dragon Age). Quote

I know what you mean. I wasn't able to properly enjoy Chrono Trigger because of that ridiculous battle system... Quote
Mevvrynne Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Well, I beat F.E.A.R., and started playing F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, and I'm pretty disappointed. They turned it into a generic FPS, took out quicksaving and leaning around corners, and decided to go for a standard horror approach (jump scares and lotsa gore) instead of unsettling, creepy hallucinations. The game looks great, though. Can't deny that. Gonna beat it anyway, even though it's a little disappointing, since I paid money for it. If you found F.E.A.R. 2 to be disappointing, I wouldn't play the third installment. By far the worst of the 3 in gameplay but best in graphical fidelity. Quote

As an awesome co-op shooter with a creepy setting and you get to play with powers it was flippin' awesome, IMO. Quote
Mevvrynne Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 The campaign felt way too short for me to enjoy the co-op. I feel as if they focused much more on the multiplayer and made the single/co-op as a side note. Quote

I myself prefer fun and short campaigns when it comes to anything other than VN or JRPG's so it was fun with for at the very least. Quote
monkeysrumble Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I found a save file on Twilight Princess and decided to finish that up the other day. I lost some save progress since my parents decided to turn off the power without warning me first. I'm also playing Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, I got the collector's edition but I haven't really played it because of school. Quote
starkweather Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 decided to give dark souls a play through. currently going through blight town, i forgot how much i hate this place. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Sorry, I, like most people I know, have a really hard time telling when people are joking around or being sarcastic through text. That's one of the reasons I refuse to text, actually, and try to avoid IMing. I always put [/sarcasm] after a sarcastic sentence in posts so people won't take me seriously. Won't make that mistake again. Hmm. I have been wondering about that. Oh well, I'll just put something at the end like you do. Quote
