Reading speed

I've decided that since we have a typing speed topic, and this is a VN forum, we should also have a reading speed topic.

I read at 482 wpm with a 91% comprehension rate.

The comprehension rate test seems a bit dodgy to me because the text is pretty easy, but whatever.

91% comprehension, but like Flutterz said, the test is easy enough to infer the correct answers just from the questions/context.

I remember doing that exact test a while back, I got.

 

560 WPM

82% comprehension rate

with a 91% comprehension rate.

If I was actually interested in what was in the text I think I would have a better comprehension rate.

I don't know if I should try to read it as fast as I can or just read it with the speed I normally read. So I have tried both and my result is:

 

Normal reading: 115 WPM

 

Fast reading: 183 WMP

 

91% comprehension rate

 

I guess I am pretty slow but I prefer reading that way, if I like what am I reading I prefer reading it slowly and taking my time imagining everything that happens thoroughly.

I vaguely looked at the text for a few seconds and took the comprehension test, which resulted in a 82% comprehension result. I have doubts regarding the legitimacy of that test.

 

When I took the time to read at a normal speed, I did 486 wpm. I wanted to try the test in french too but it's the exact same text...

I'm not surprised with the results since I've never read much and I'm a slow reader, I often backtracked while reading the text to re-check words, but i still feel powerless now when i compare this to everyone else.
