Who Likes Jast USA?

Pretty much have ''no opinion'' towards ether group since they only have two or three games that I liked from the bunch. Mangagamer has more titles but they aren't to my taste. I think I played more from JAST. Like Raidy games, and I'm glad they picked up the third one.

I honestly like JASTUSA. I think the more support the legal localization of VN's there is, the better. Grant it, I don't like them any more than Mangagamer; I have Mangagamer to thank for convincing me to give VN's a try with Shuffle!

 

But yeah, I might learn how to read VN's in Japanese before Seinarukana comes out though according to their Twitter feed they'll have news on it after Stein's;Gate makes it out the door.

I'm actually in a pretty weird situation with JAST right now. I'd love to preorder the physical release of Stein's;Gate, regardless of when it's coming out. I respect the fact that it's even getting localized, and want to support things when they actually happen. Problem is, I don't have a credit card. Typically when I buy things off of the internet, I'll borrow my parents' credit card and pay them back with the money I make from my part-time job. Unfortunately, that would mean linking my dad's card to a distributor with tons of eroge. Regardless of what Stein's;Gate is rated, I know he won't approve of that.

 

So what do you guys think I should do? Should I go through the awkward conversation of trying to explain that Stein's;Gate isn't actually porn, or hope to find a second-hand copy off of ebay or something? The odds of finding one seem really unlikely...

You should get a pre-paid credit card. You load money on the card with cash, and then can use it like a normal credit card. None of the dangers, none of the credit checks, all of the convenience, and your parents don't need to know.

Order it from Rightstuf.com since they're mainly known for selling anime/manga merchandise so there shouldn't be any awkward questions there. I'm pretty sure the only JAST release I've played was Saya no Uta; I like Mangagamer's lineup a lot more. Sure, Mangagamer puts out a ton of moege/nukige, but when they decide to put out more deep/serious titles, they chose amazing ones to translate.

Yes i tottaly agree with Eurobeatz on that, they are already going to realishe good game, such as Princess Evangline so I'm looking forward too very much

I like any company that is trying to get VN over to the West, BUT I was appalled at the quality of translation for the game Enzai. Seriously, they're charging money for this, and yet it's littered with mistakes. It was like it didn't go through any kind of quality check at all. The only other title of theirs I've bought is Saya no Uta and the translation for that was good, so maybe Enzai was just a one off. I'm still annoyed about spending my money on it though!

And the only game I liked from Jast USA are Yumina and My Girlfriend are President others was boring as hell but Enzai was okay through
