Hoshizora no memoria installation problem (SOLVED)

Hello, I've downloaded Hoshizora no Memoria on fuwanovel and it doesn't work... I put my windows in japanese local, and when I start MemoriaEN this window appear:

Hoshimemo should work fine if you're on win8, I think... Have you restarted your pc after changing the non-unicode to japanese? (sorry for the idiot question, but sometimes this kind of thing happens).

Yeah, since I download eroges and visuals novels,, it's always in non-unicode to japanese...

It does seem like your non unicode settings are incorrect. Please make sure they're right. Don't use applocale or any other software.

Check if the files are not read only

Select all the files in the directory > right click > properties > uncheck read only (if it's checked)

 

From the looks of it it's saying there was some problem with the save files. Did you move the save folder from your documents to somewhere else (or deleted it)? Hoshimemo creates a folder within your documents where it stores all the save data. Make sure you didn't move anything from there and make sure the files in there aren't read-only.

 

The saves should be under something like this:

C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\FAVORITE\星空のメモリア\save

 

Last case scenario create a folder in your documents titled FAVORITE and within that folder another one named 星空のメモリア and within that another one named save

I still think your non unicode settings are incorrect or else the error box wouldn't have those weird symbols but japanese characters instead.

 

Check for corrupted files with your torrent client.

Right click on the torrent > force re-check

Changing your non unicode settings on windows 8

Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Region and Language.

Select the Administrative tab

Then under Language for non-Unicode programs click Change system locale

Select Japanese and click Ok

Restart your computer

Try playing the game and see if it works.

 

To force a recheck of the files open your torrent client

Make sure the torrent of the game is there, if it's not just add it again.

Make sure you didn't move the game directory anywhere else from the original place where you downloaded it into or else the torrent will just re-download the game.

The torrent should either say seeding or finished. ( If it's seeding right click it and select Stop)

Right click the torrent and choose Force Re-check
