Zalor Posted January 1 Posted January 1 WhatIfAltHist is a reasonably big YouTube channel that covers alternative speculation on history and political topics. But recently he uploaded a 10 -12 hour autobiographical video of himself, supposedly after an ayahuasca trip, where he goes full Mimiya Takuji (based). Like, the similarities between some of his unhinged claims and reveals almost directly seem like they've been plagiarized straight from Sca-ji's mind himself. Here are two videos that cover the highlights with timestamps: part 1 & part 2 Off the top of my head here are the immediate similarities: -Nerdy book smart guy (who may or may not have gotten bullied in school) claims to actually be a stud -Experienced divine contact with extra-dimensional entities -Claims a cataclysmic prediction for a specific date, in this case that the US will erupt in civil war by April 2025 -Had an abusive mom that was into cult like stuff and who justified her abuse for the sake of making her son stronger because he's destined for great things -Has a younger sister that his mother forced him to abuse -Claims to have communed with divine spirits, specifically Odin, and can channel the presence of these entities -Epic rants about masturbation -Epic rants about esoteric philosophy -Is the protagonist of history -Also epic rants about masturbation Truly the comparisons to Mamiya Takuji are uncanny. Obviously it seems that the guy has a lot of unresolved trauma and I hope he's able to get better without feeding his delusions further. But while schizo-tier breakdowns on the internet aren't exactly rare, this is the first time one felt weirdly uncanny to me. I suppose what I'm really trying to get at, is that I think Sca-ji really nailed a realistic portrayal of the conditions it takes to get somebody to undergo such delusions of grandeur. The combination of severe childhood trauma and a need to compensate for the trauma with grandiose beliefs for why it had to occur. Idk, I feel like there's a conversation to be had here. But I don't really have anything more to add for now. Just thought this would be an interesting thing to share, since this is one of the rare times when VNs and current event drama seem to intersect.
