What is your opinion of the rebuild of Evangelion

I open this post because i'm a fan of the old evangelion, I have not yet seen the movies and I'm a little afraid that too many things have changed. So I ask your opinion. Are they good? Bad?? and most importantly have they changed history much? thank you all in advance.

Only seen the first two, the first one's okay as it's more or less a retread of the first few episodes. Most of the differences from the show there are visual such as the Angel design or SEELE's new symbol. I consider the second one to be really good as that's where the story goes into a different direction from the show and I thought the changes were good ones overall like giving Shinji some awesome moments. The only change I'm not sure about is Mari considering I'm not entirely sure what the point of her character is. Overall I'd say they're worth taking a look at if you like Evangelion.

I enjoyed the first two, not as detailed as the series due to lack of time but they're okay. There are minor characterization changes as well, Asuka for example is somewhat less hostile and warms up to Shinji more openly. Same goes for Rei, who shows more emotion.

 

I hated the third movie. It kinda... fucked up everything.

They're not on the level of the series, but they're definitely worth watching.

 

The first one is a retelling of the first six episodes with minor changes and done in a rather clever way.

The second one is also a retelling in essence, but in terms of events it starts diverging quite a lot from the series. It's really, really good.

The third one is... interesting. As a movie it's good, but the writing is a bit fucked up, and it's really surprising. Seriously, it's very hard to say whether or not this movie is good as long as the fourth isn't out.

 

If you're a fan of the series, watch them. Keep in mind that you won't get some things you had from the series though.

if only are small changes and as you say for good, I'm sure it worth it.

Rebuild 1 and 2 were really good, surprisingly. Though the third chapter proves once again that you need a PhD in understanding bullshit writing to know wtf is going on.

Sorry for the delay, I've been a little busy for a few days. Once I saw the 3 movies, I must recognize that the first 2 are fine, the third will cause a brain blast but is okay. that's the essence of evangelion no? xD thanks to all for the oppinions.
