I'm currently trying to learn japanese and i'd like to ask if there are VNs with simple japanese so i can use them to test what i learned and slowly and steadily better my japanese.

I can't speak from experience but I heard Katawa Shoujo is a good one. Probably any kind of SoL type VNs that don't have a lot of fantasy type elements will work. Again I'm only speaking from what I've heard.

Try children's stories before you get in to actual VNs. The great chokochoko library comes to mind, or maybe these?

Yeah we had fun looking the zaniness of Japan's children's stories on teamspeak.

But honestly, if you're looking for something easier than VN's, how about shounen (or shoujo) manga??  I think you'd enjoy it more than children's stories...
