Kathane crashing on game start

I installed it and everything went fine, but the only application for the game that would run was in the 'backup' whenever I tried the other ones I kept getting error messages. However, when I click 'New game' it just crashes. Then when I load it back up, it comes up with another message that I can't read but whether or not I press yes/no it comes up with the game but the game still doesn't work?

Your locale settings seem to be wrong.

Change your non unicode settings to japanese

You're supposed to run Katahane.exe by the way which was the first one you tried
