Exogenesis Kickstarter - A post apocalyptic interactive visual novel

Really? There's about a month and $20,000 left. That's a lot of money.

It got 10,000 in less than a week. I believe it can achieve the goal. It's well worthy of it. I'm glad to see so many people interested.

It's going pretty steadily at around 1k per day, and considering it has 22 days and 22k to go... It's looking good.

I believe it is actually more than 1k per day... I guess a Kickstarter is given 30 days to succeed, so it has made 10K in 8 days so far. If it keeps up this ratio, it might even reach a few stretch goals.

Also it seems that it was Greenlit today! :D

Yeah, things are certainly looking good right about now.

I want to try the demo out too but do you do need WinRAR? I deleted the trail version but still have other programs like 7Zip.. etc..

I hope it succeeds though. If I like the demo a physical copy would be amazing.

I'm ashamed to say I'm stuck on the 1st puzzle :(

I dont get it - I entered the diary page colours in order but nothing happens?

***SOLUTION***

Actually I am kinda proud I found this one myself. You need to organize the pages with the order of the flower drawing in the bottom, not the date. It needs to go from the "crumpled paper ball" state to a full-blown flower.

And the color of the pages in that order is the order you need to press the colored buttons below the hammer box.

It actually gives you a hint at some point telling you to order it that way when you can't figure it out.

That's how I managed to figure it out, otherwise I'd be stuck.

I actually think I MIGHT have gotten a hint like that, though I had been suspecting the flower drawings might have been the case before that.

The puzzles show promise!

Loving the demo so far ^^ I played it a while back (before all the updates), and I must say, so much more has been added. Glad to see more English visual novels getting the attention they deserve :)

Where exactly was the hint?

Is there a clue for

entering the number code on the door? I managed to make the hologram though

If only western creators would try to develop their own, unique style instead copypasting japanese otaku-pandering crap.

Depends which creators you follow. Scheherazade and Academagia are definitely not Japanese influenced... although Academagia is like a spreadsheet game which may bore a lot of people. I found it lots of fun though.

I can't wait till Academagia 2 is released :3

I'm not a fan of adventure games trying to label themselves as visual novels, nor am I a fan of completely "westernized" visual novels and neither am I a fan of the copypasted, weeaboo pandering crap certain groups are currently trying to create. Don't get me wrong, though; I still think they are needed, have their own merits and purpose. But the sole fact people don't learn from the mistakes left by previous groups is more than enough to rest reassured nothing will change.

I while ago I completely lost my interest in the western visual novel development community, simply because those people are blind in the same exact manner the japanese devs are unable to grasp the modern age and adjust to it; they don't see the potential and they are way too afraid to move out of the safe zones and cope with the issues.

I've seen a lot of people eager to bring visual novels to the west and talking about how important they are in the history of computer entertainment; going out on crusades, trying to accustom western community, fighting the annoyances, luring the fanbase and trying to get their own piece of cake for themselves; they all failed. It's because of a very simple factor - western community isn't ready to accept visual novels the way thy are, there's still a long way to go. And worst of all, they aren't even trying to make anything better for themselves. I won't go lightly on anyone that actually wants to take a chance and at the same time, try to avoid the responsibilities that come with it.

That definately killed the thread. Truth hurts, eh?

I could go on for hours about the subject. Don't see a reason though, when people cover their ears.

I can only wish you luck and hope you won't regret it later.
