mojavan Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 <3 Eureka Seven. Despite it being 26+26 episodes long. Just like with Clannad, the real goodness starts with season two. Perhaps that's why so many seems to have overlooked it..? Quote
HaruKaizo Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Clannad, Clannad After Story, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Steins;Gate, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha A's, Fate/Zero, Lucky Star... There are so many of them... Quote
STARSBarry Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 hmm it seems some have alot of fav animes, but I can defiantly narrow it down to a single one easy Outlaw Star before this I had watched things like dragonball & pokemon but then in toonami's later years (just before it was shut down in the UK and became the abomination than is cartoon network 2) they did an all night marathon with every episode of outlaw star back to back starting at 9pm and finishing at something stupid like 5 or 6 am it showed ever episode (apart from the hot springs which was cut due to just being fan service) I remember sitting down as a kid staying the night over at my cousin's house whos parents where away that night (hense the sleep over) and I watchd the whole thing and remember being entranced by how adult it was at the time (if I remember I was around 11 or 12 years old) ever since then it has always had a special place in my heart since it was the one that introduced me to anime... out of all the series I have seen since... well Higurashi sticks into my memory if only because of the unique ground hog day style set up and likable characters Quote

Outlaw Star was great as it combined bounty hunters, Pirates, Sci FI and Comedy. I remember that one fondly. Great characters for sure. Did you ever see the Spin off to that called Angel Links?? Anyway you should introduce yourself over on our Introduce Yourself thread. ;)/> Quote
Tay Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Well, I finished Lucky Star. While it's not my favorite anime (that honor goes to the illustrious Sword Art Online), it's a wonderful and hilarious creature. I think the opening may just be the most sure-fire way to quickly improve my mood. I think these sorts of reactions are the reasons why I'm growing to love anime. While this thread is all about our favorite anime, I want to add that my favorite reason for enjoying Anime is the way characters and songs slip past my personal barriers and get at my heart. So come on. Let's get cherry pie. PS: +574 XP and +1000 Gratitude Points to Ryoji for the recommendationPPS: The ending is so fitting for the show... lol... Quote
Ryoji Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Glad you enjoyed it. Its defientely a classic and is amazing in the fact that it brings a smile to your face eveytime you watch it. THATS why I watch AND love anime. I think these sorts of reactions are the reasons why I'm growing to love anime. Azuma Mikoto Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Easily Cardcaptor Sakura. Next one up would be Samurai Champloo, as it has almost everything I would ever want in an anime. Style, good plot, amazing music, great and memorable characters, amazing fight choreography, and plenty of humor. Quote
Mikel Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Easily Cardcaptor Sakura. If you like Cardcaptor Sakura, you should try wayching Tsubasa Chronicles if you haven't yet. Hmm... it's a difficult question. I have to say the anime I have more memories of and enjoyed the most is Dragon Ball, but it's mostly because of childhood memories. If I had to choose some anime I didn't watch as a child I would go for Toradora or The Law of Ueki. Quote
Azuma Mikoto Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 If you like Cardcaptor Sakura, you should try wayching Tsubasa Chronicles if you haven't yet. I've read the entire manga of Tsubasa. I like it, but it spiraled down into something that confuses even CLAMP themselves. lol Quote

Not sure if you know this or not, but Samurai Champloo is from Writer/Director Shinichiro Watanabe, who did the amazing Cowboy Bebop. I agree with Azuma, Samurai Champloo has Action, Comedy, and Drama and it also has an AMAZING original story that puts a unique spin on the historical samurai era. WATCH IT!! Great choice Azuma Mikoto, now I think i need to add it to my queue and watch it again. Quote
Down Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Samurai Champloo is definitely in my anime god tier too. Thought it's a shame it's so less known than Cowboy Bebop, I think it's fairly better. Quote
Sieg Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 In order: FMA: Brotherhood, Code Geass (whole series), Fate/Zero, Clannad (whole series), Steins;Gate, Kara no Kyoukai, Monogatari Series,Guilty Crown...... While comedy may not be among the first rankers, I do enjoy it quite a lot, although I enjoy "serious" series more. My fave for comedy would be School Rumble, but there's a lot more like Nichijou, Baka Test, Seitokai Yakuindomo... Quote
Redgrave Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen It got swords, it got assassins, it got drama, it got romance, it got ideals. This OVA had everything i wanted to. Quote
Asaka66 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 100% Code geass All time favorite , there will never be a better anime in my view Quote
