Best VNs You've Played So Far (2014)

I would've put best VNs of 2014 but with the fact that old (and good) VNs get late translation I just wanted to know what stellar novels have you played this year partly because i'm looking for recommendations  B)

Higurashi, the four last chapters though which are somewhat better than the first four (which you'll have to read first).

I/O and Little Busters also count, though I can't quite give a blanket recommendation for either. Well, LB is so widely read that it's probably worth it just to be able to discuss it with others though.

I only read Steins; Gate and I am currently in episode 3 of Umineko no Naku Koro Ni- that's all in this year so far, since I have many other dwellings than VN's (video games, books, school, electric guitar, mandatory daily procrastination, etc.)

 

Umineko is like a weird rollercoaster of feelings: I feel somewhat "dislodged" when I read it: I do not know what to think and the game makes you feel many things back-to-back: Happiness, relief immediately followed by fear, disgust and anger. I quite like it.

In this year.. the best VN I've read is I/O. 2nd place will probably go to Rose Guns Days (which I'm currently reading).

So far, it would probably be Rewrite. I'm a sucker for Key's games to begin with, but Rewrite was just above and beyond what I expected.

Well the best VN I've read this year is Hoshimemo of course.

Well in both cases Ayakashibito is the best one this year for me.

The best this year for me were I/O and Root Double. The only ones I actually finished so far this year.

Light-hearted, the drama only lasts about an 1 hour. It's great if you want something to just relax.

The best VN I've read this year was probably Symphonic Rain. I'm currently reading FSN though, so that might turn out to be great (I'm expecting it to.)

Clannad i would guess.

Rewrite just wasn't that awesome in my opinion (and afterstory clearly surpasses terra) and Grisaia no Kajitsu suffered too much from Michiru's and especially Yumiko's route (one of the worst things i've ever read in a vn)

The True Route made me cry and no VN did it, so far.

This year? Probably Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi, just for the great concept alone. Okay, the art and OST was great too. I'm still at the beginning of Muramasa though, so who knows what that will do to my ratings - so far it's amazing.

lol j/k, Rance 9 was fun, but so far best this year is Eustia. Haven't been reading that many VNs this year though...
