JargonMan Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 So here's the story. I basically downloaded the Muv Luv (extra and unlimited) through using the instructions on Fuwanovel.org. I downloaded everything, and I'm trying to progress through the steps verbatim here: taylorfinch.com/Fuwanovel/MuvLuvInstallGuide.pdf. I get stuck at the step where you are supposed to "Mount the “MUVLUV_EXTRA.ccd” to daemon tools". I tried to mount that ccd file to the daemon tools program that came with the torrent install folder, and I get this error message: "Error in Command Line." I installed the most recent version of Daemon tools lite seperately after that, and I get the same error "error in command line." I think I have all of those programs you listed on my thread downloaded. Just for some more background info: My computer is about 5 years old, very old and outdated hardware wise I'm guessing. It also has a shitty amount of space on it (I only have 80GB available out of 232 GB total in storage on that computer). I wanted to try and use it on my mac because the computer is much newer (summer 2012 model bought new in December 2013). But this stuff about running windoms emu programs sounds too complicated for me. I tried also mounting the CCD file to Alcohol 120% instead of Daemon tools lite, and also installing another version of Daemon tools lite, but the ccd file still will not work. I get the same "error in command line" when I try to mount the file on the other daemon tools program, and when I tried to mount it on the Alcohol 120%, it didn't do anything (it says beside (D:) Media status: Media Present- Loaded but doesn't actually do anything). EDIT: I have sought help online , but its very very difficult to find my particular problem among the many other problems people have with trying to play the game!!! EDITEDIT: I'm using windows 8 and a 64 bit operating system. Quote
MrTsundere Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) I think the reason you are getting this error is because Daemon Tools is not recognising the file extension on this case the .cdd extension. To solve this problem you have to open Daemon Tools and go to the definitions menu then you go to the Integration tab and check the the box that says CCD. I think that should solve it. Edit: If you can't figure it out try watching this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjKrdpcR-WI Edited May 31, 2014 by MrTsundere Quote

When I drag the CCD file to the Daemon Tools Lite program that came with the torrent folder, I get a pop up messge that says "this program has compatibility issues." with the option to "Get help online" Or "Continue running program anyways". Clicking continue yeilds the same "error in command line". When I drag that CCD file to the new Daemon Tools I installed invidvidually, it gives me the same "error in command line" message. Quote
cryofrzd Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Normally .ccd files are linked to an .img and a .sub file. If these are not in the same directory, the image cannot be mounted. JargonMan 1 Quote
MrTsundere Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Do you have at least one virtual image created on your pc? To do this you have to open Daemon Tools and then click on the symbol that shows a plus sign with a DT above and then you should be able to mount the file. Quote
Narcosis Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Don't force me to download that MuvLuv copy to show my 7 year old PC is able to run it without any hassle. One word - Get Power ISO. Daemon Tools is shit. .ccd is a control file used by CloneCD software to mark the properties for a real image file. In other words, you're not running the actual image, you're trying to run it through a control file and I'm not even sure why DT doesn't recognise it, since it should. You should also have a file called "MUVLUV_EXTRA.IMG" within the same directory as well (either that, or some sub-directories). Try to run the IMG instead the CCD file. cryofrzd 1 Quote
JargonMan Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 Thank you so much cryofrzd!!!!! It's working now, finally. When I originally tried to run the CCD file on Daemon Tools, there the actual Daemon Tools program was located in a folder. I relocated the CCD file to the Daemon Tools folder when I tried to intially drop the CCD file onto the Daemon Tools program located within that folder. I didn't realize that relocating the CCD file would cause it not to work, I had no clue. That's why I've been trying to solve this issue for so long... Can't wait to play through all three (Extra, Unlimited, Alternative)! This'll be my first real japanese visual series novel I suppose.. Quote
Narcosis Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 CCD is not an image, it's just a header file containing some data required for CloneCD to manipulate the actual IMG file it's attached to. They need to be in the same exact folder to work, as CCD simply points to the IMG file anyway. You can completely omit the header files and just mount the actual images instead. JargonMan 1 Quote
