Nosebleed Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Well now you know my despair with Honoka. I really wanted to share this with you since i found it hilarious, but the amount of references/puns is too strong and i'd ruin their characters by attempting to translate so i'll just leave notes on the bottom. Hanayo: Nico Nico Nii~ (Divine punishment for whoever doesn't get the reference) Rin: Nani sore? Imi wakan'nai (Maki's trademark tsukkomi phrase, roughly translates to "What is that? I don't get it.") Nico: Chun Chun~ (This is a reference to Kotori, somehow. If someone could help. That'd be great.) Nozomi: Pan ga, Umai~ (This bread is delicious - Reference to Honoka) Umi: Nyaaaaa~!! (Rin Nyaaaa~) Eri: Taihen desu~! (Hanayo's trademark phrase) Kotori: Horosho~ (Don't need to explain this) Honoka: Gokigenyo (A very refined to say Hello, reference to Umi) Maki: Mou! Darega! Darenanyo! Noranaide yo ("Jeez! Who!? Who is it?! And don't ride me!" Not sure if this is a reference to anything, probably just maki getting mad at them tackling her) Rin: メソドーナヒト (I have no idea what this means *much fail*) Today I was browsing the event rankings and I saw a guy who was rank 661 with 62100 bond with Pure Kotori (Rare), 40k bond with cool Kotori, and 30k bond with smile Kotori. That's over 1000 Kotoris he has max bonded. and then I saw a rank 345 with 131xxx bond with a UR Honoka... What...? 264+ UR Honokas of the same kind... are these people billionaires? Probably a bug? It can't be possible.. Like why would you want 1000 Kotoris in the first place? There's no reason to. Quote
Narcosis Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Chizukos boobs, hue. Not even Nozomi's can match hers. Oh god. PUNS, PUNS EVERYWHERE and I'd hug her anytime. KLab surely knows how to please people. Her smile card is even better, haha: Such a healthy girl <3 And those quotes. Not sure if all ages, anymore. crunchytaco 1 Quote

Ceris Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Draw your sword, Ceris. Today you fight in hades! I can't stand her personality in the anime nor her cards thing. Like why would you want 1000 Kotoris in the first place? There's no reason to. At least you liked Honoka a bit. Imagine being plagued by Eri instead of Honoka. There's two things that come to mind when I think of that scene One (i've posted multiple times) two: Sorry, not cheering me up. I went and fed all those Nozomis to the UR Nico that I will most likely say goodbye to when I restart my save. Quote
Narcosis Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 How can you hate Nozomi, Ceris. You're making me sad ; ^; Quote
Ceris Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 How can you hate Nozomi, Ceris. You're making me sad ; ^;Besides the fact that she worked to bring Muse together, there's no redeeming qualities for her in my eyes. I don't know, I just don't like her at all.In my normal group of friends that I talk to about anime, well all put Nozomi as our least favorite character. And it's not even like they all have the same character opinions as me, we have a Nico fan, Hanayo fan, and a Maki fan.Every time I think I want to keep the save, I remember I only have a Nico UR (best part), and two Kotori SRs (not exactly high on my favorite characters list at all). The rest is just regular rares. The only thing I can think would be good is that I have quite a few rares and my Cool team is as strong as my Cool team on the EN servers. I'm seriously conflicted here, and still feeling really down knowing I literally wasted 30 love gems just now. Quote
xisashi_e Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 That convinced me to do a Pure Only draw, and that was easily the biggest mistake I made in this game. I'm actually in a really sad mood now after this horrible draw, they were just TORTURING me with this. I can say this ruined my day. Keep in mind, Nozomi is the only Love Live character I can say I dislike, almost even hate. So why the fuck did this happen? izzit pure draw got guarantee SR? if not, u still lucky oledi XD The profile input, any way to write "Kotori" ? Quote

The only woman among the main cast. Nozomi: Touching me means you want to be touched. *Squeels* (Those are pretty huge though. I wonder if she has problems inhaling before singing.) Narcosis 1 Quote

arakura Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Could you do it if you used hiragana instead of English? ことり I dont have the keyboard downloaded so I cant try until I do. Maybe I will get around to it today >,> Quote

Nosebleed Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Doing that profile symbol thing in hiragana would be a major pain. Here, 2nd strip. The pink characters are lyrics to Loveless World. Also I feel like I missed a joke on the 2nd panel, sorry for that. Quote

Honestly i struggled with the sentence itself and it just ended up generic. What it references isn't a joke, but the fact that they are referencing it is the joke.I don't know the origins, but basically, someone drops something of little value into a body of water, a fairy comes out and asks you did you drop this gold one? Or this silver one? If you answer no to both, you get both the gold and silver for being honest. Quote

Well at least I can be more certain the translation wasn't a failure. Although now that I know this I'd have changed the last line to something like"Such an honest person, here have both as a present!"Just looked into it a little, it's based on the Roman God of Trade and Profit, not a fairy, and tells a story of a man who dropped his axe into a river, then goes the story I said above. I first came across this story in the game Silent Hill 3, and that's where I looked to find itCopied what I read into this spoiler tag, it's a little lengthy. Basically in SH3, you throw a pipe into the sewer and a fairy comes out and asks you the questions. Now for an interesting story about the Sewer Fairy and her Gold andSilver doodads: game enthusiasts and the elderly may remember a certainfairy in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES (and now forthe GBA; I guess you don't have to be that elderly after all) who wouldgive you Gold and Silver Arrows and Boomerangs and stuff for huckingyour normal items into her bathtub (or pond or whatever it was). Thiswas also done in Harvest Moon and more recently, .hack, with a pair ofaxes. I was taking some classes on Mythology last summer, and actuallyfound out where this tradition came from. I had assumed it came fromJapanese Folklore, but apparently the fairy is supposed to be an Avataror somesuch of Mercury, the Roman god of Trade and Profit (who inturn was a rip-off of Hermes, the God of all that same sorts of stuff, but in Greece). You know, the bloke with the wings sticking out of hishat. Anyway, there was a myth in which a laborer was working next to ariver and his best axe fell in and sank to the bottom. Being poor andneeding the axe to earn his wage, the man was distraught and fell downby the riverside to weep. Presently, Mercury rose up out of the water(the god, not the poisonous liquid metal; this wasn't the Hudson River)and asked the man why he was crying. When the man told him what hadhappened, the god dove down to the bottom of the river and returnedwith an axe made of gold. He asked the man if this was the axe the manwas looking for, and he said no. The god dove down again and came backwith a silver axe, and when he asked the man if THIS was his axe, heagain said no. The god dove down a third time and came back with theman's plain old boring axe. When the man saw it he was overjoyed, andtold the god that this was truly his axe. Mercury, pleased with theman's honesty, gave the man back his axe, but also gave him the goldand silver axes to show his pleasure. The man returned to town and toldthe story to a few of his friends. One of them, figuring that he wantedin on a piece of that action, ran to the river and threw his own axeinto the water on purpose. He then fell down and pretended to cry, andsure enough, Mercury showed up and inquired as to the source of all theblubbering. The man told his story, and, true to form, Mercury dovedown and came back up with a golden axe. But when he asked the man ifit was his axe, the man was overcome with avarice, and grabbed at theaxe, claiming it was his. Mercury was pissed and disappeared, and thedumbass was left with no axes at all, just like Heather and her SteelPipe if you too are a dumbass and lie to the fairy. Later the secondman died of syphilis, alone and afraid. Actually, that last part wasn'tin the legend, but I figured the guy needed a worse punishment forlying to a god. Any REAL god would have turned him into a pillar ofsalt, or replaced his genitals with a rabid spider monkey or something.I'm telling you, they just don't make gods like they used to.And people say video games are mind-rotting entertainment.
