Love Live! School Idol Festival Thread

Just thought of something. How awesome of a feeling it must be for the real life u's members to know that their music is literally being listened to world wide in a world wide released game based on them? Some anime gets lucky to get licensed outside of Japan but Love Live got it's own English translated game. I remember the Madoka Magica VAs saying they were stunned when they heard Rebellion was being aired outside of Japan. Must be an incredible feeling considering how competitive the industry is there.

Considering the very best releases (which are typically post-air BD's) sell in ammounts of 15-30k at most, the fact a game is being played by millions of fans all around the globe must be an incredible feeling for the whole dev team. I bet the game is quite profitable as well, not to mention the maintenance costs are ridiculously low compared to other mmo games. In other words, I can safely assume LL:SIF is a very succesful mobile game.

I took an image that recorded all the releases of the cards in the JP SIF and converted the dates to tentative EN releases. This only works for a general date (anywhere around middle of the month really) and if they keep the same release schedule. If they do though, the cards won't match up with the season.

I posted that and just realized the text doesn't line up. I'll fix it in about an hour, about to be really busy on a game I play.

Nice post Ceris, hopefully I can solve my debit card issues and have some love gems for when that next Nico is out.

Speaking of SIF's popularity, I showed my friends this game the other day, and the Japanese students among them were thrilled to see people all over the world are enjoying it now (and as such also many parts of Japanese pop culture as a whole). The game is clearly doing well, and I feel like it deserves it for being such a unique and fun experience among mobile games.

 

Now excuse me while I go cry about how I am too poor to ever get all these SRs and URs I want... it's probably for the best some of those releases are still far away.

Let's be realistic here, we'll never have every card in the game unless we spend money (and even then it's unlikely you'll get EVERY card). And that's exactly what they want to happen so you keep spending money on it. And they've succeeded in that department clearly. Even i'm going to spend money on it soon.

 

The game is as fun as it is a curse.

I've bought gems for a 10+1 once so far. The draw itself was pretty lame but I don't feel too bad about it since I do want to support the creators of the game and show my appreciation for the English translation. I'm not having trouble with the Japanese version, but English is definitely more convenient.

 

Given how much I enjoy this game, I actually wish I could buy gems more often but I know it's simply not possible for me. (And there's also the fact I want a PS Vita for nothing other than School Idol Paradise...)

I also want to buy a Vita for School Idol Paradise (and others) but my budget is not that loose yet.

I can already see myself getting a job solely for SIF and doing nothing else with my life.

I think if they really jump to the Honoka event, they might give more cards so we can actually get the valentines day cards on valentines day

That would only happen if they add a ton of cards at once because of skipping the Kotori and Umi repeats. If they don't add a bunch of cards and still skip the repeats, the dates I posted will be relatively the same (+/- a couple days), since the events don't determine which SR cards are released after.

I so need to learn Japanese, but I just don't have the commitment to anything that long. I can barely commit to a project that lasts a couple days

I maxed ever normal card, bond and level now, except 1 new one, and the Umi event reward normal. I was looking at my album and the sight of this made me sad though.

Actually, even if I did have every card I want, I'd still continue playing because 1) it's still getting updated and 2) this kind of thing is never an issue for me in rhythm games. For instance, I unlocked everything I want in the Project Diva games I own, but I still play them just because they're fun (and to actually see the stuff I unlocked in-game).

 

I do agree though that simply wanting more cards is a huge motivation boost for SIF. And so frustrating at the same time.

And we'll then have our first ever official Nico and Maki duet song.

I think you'd still have to wait for downtime in between updates and that can be considerably more frustrating.
