Nosebleed Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Cloudy, I'll forgive you, I'm not very active in this thread after all. Nah, プランタン is still incredibly broken, but プリンテンプス would be plain wrong. If they went for a more accurate pronunciation it'd probably be more like プラーントー, but that's just making things unnecessary complicated for a country that simply doesn't cope well with foreign languages in general. Both プランタン and プリンタン seem to be what's considered correct over there. Well the thing is I'm not sure what exactly they're going for so spelling it out is sort of tricky. The way I pronounce Printemps in katakana would pretty much be プリンテンプス (very literal and defined syllables) but that's obviously not the original intent (because fuck you gaijins) But the only language I know pronounces "in" or "en" as アン is French so I would have never figured out you'd pronounce it プランタン I'm just going by hearing here and tried spelling out the kana as how I thought it was pronounced before actually looking it up. プラーントー sounds a bit weird since there's an m in temps so i figured the last vowel would be nasal and not a to~ I think the point is, Japan should not try to use foreign languages. I always thought Printemps had プリン as in pudding in it which was cute. But now i'm scarred for life. Quote
maki~chan Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I guess im the worst here by calling them printePs I don't even add that m and I will continue calling them that I love most of their songs tough Quote

I always thought Printemps had プリン as in pudding in it which was cute. But now i'm scarred for life. But it is French, so just apply your knowledge to your katakana guesses! The general rule is that they try to emulate the original pronunciation and then horribly fail at it. Neither the n nor the m are really pronounced, so not a single one of those ways to spell it makes sense, to be honest. The ン in my suggestion of プラーントー isn't really meant to be the n in Prin, but more like a short break to indicate that Prin is the first syllable and temps the second. Ah well, it doesn't change the fact that they use プランタン and we have to deal with it, haha. It'd be so much less cringe-worthy if they'd just called the sub-unit 春-something, but we'll never see the day Japan gives up on their fancy foreign naming. But thank God for Engrish and whatever terrible mash-ups of Japanese and other languages are called, wouldn't want to live without kyuuthi pansaa, sunoo haleeshoo and lissun tuu mai haat. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Oh Printemps is French for Spring. Oh my god my mind is blown, I had absolutely no clue. See how the hell would you figure that out without knowing French!? Seriously Japan, your naming sense is terrible. Technically プランタン is as close as you get to the original French pronounciation in katakana. I guess this is why they always spell Printemps with latin leters and never use kanas and then they hope people get it right. I've also raised a point before about the actual name of the entire franchise. What the hell is "Love Live" supposed to mean. What kind of name is that, it doesn't make any sense. For those wondering, here's the absolutely 100% correct pronounciation of "Printemps" Quote
Kaguya Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Huh. In my language, that'd be "prantom". Also, I just realized there were 6 Ns I idolized and then didn't max bond. I disposed of them already, too. The problem is that I don't know which ones I did that to... Guess I'll go through my album to find out. Quote
Ceris Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Yeah, gotta hunt that album, keep swapping between the idolized tab and the max bond tab. Says in the notification ingame, Wonderful Rush, Aishiteru Banzai, Mermaid Festa Vol. 1, Kitto Seishun ga Kikoeru, coming out at midnight UTC. Great, I have an FC on all 4 of those, and like 300 plays on Wonderful Rush and S clear on Mermaid Festa I was wrong Quote
Kaguya Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Oh, they actually have special lines? Is this an SR-and-above-only thingy or do rares count? Also, do they have more than 1 special line? Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Oh, they actually have special lines? Is this an SR-and-above-only thingy or do rares count? Also, do they have more than 1 special line? Yes, each card has its own special line, it applies to SR/UR only (Maybe the other sets of Rares also have a special line but I can't confirm) and when they're idolized their lines change too. Each of them has 1 or 2 special lines. Quote
Ceris Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I believe every SR has a unique line, then when idolized, it gets a new unique line, and one more when max bonded. Also, SRs and up have special "Good job!" lines (at least in the case of Rin and Hanayo) that they like saying. Lastly, URs have special lines throughout the day, like I've had my Rin yell "Ohayo!" in the morning when I launched my JP, and I know I've heard Nico say something along the lines of "Good night! Have sweet dreams of Nico!" The SR quotes also apply to tapping them when idolized, usually a new casual one, a one where they're extra startled/embarrassed, one where they accept the embarrassment. Quote
Eclipsed Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 You can check the character's pages on the wiki to see which cards have which lines, tho idk how complete the list is. Quote
Kaguya Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I've been looking for it, but I can't seem to find the korean version for download (JP takes too much space ). Quote
Eclipsed Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Yeah, I had to trash the JP version cuz it took idk 600? 700? 800? MB. -.- edit: digging through the thread, maki~chan said: "You need to have a VPN like crossvpn register(too easy) login and choose free korea one then go to chrome or whatever proxy you use open new hidden page type oh wait you use android or ios? I use android well just go to app's page and download it But I uninstalled that cause my phone won't stand three big apps with other ones also that crossvpn is too slow I could look at some stuff but then that big download time came I couldn't wait it was slower than jp&eng :D" ~~ Ceris should know the exact specifics to get the KR version. Ceris Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Try this; http://m.downloadatoz.com/apps/com.nhnent.SKLOVELIVE,1249608.html Otherwise, you'll have to follow the guide here, but change TunnelBear to CrossVPN, and I'm not sure if you have to search for SIF in Korean or if it comes up just searching in English. Ezeefreak Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 It's nice to see how I improve bit by bit at this game... The 2 EX Wonderful Rush and Aishteru Banzai I hadn't FC'ed before, I venen had no combo at all there ... AIshteru Banzai I FC'ed at the first try now and it didn't felt difficult. For wonderful rusch I needed 2 tries because at the first I missed somehow a note... Really nice to see that progress and it mozivates me quite a lot... And don't forget gorgeous Eli, especially Nosebleed Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Still undecided wether or not to go for T2, after checking my teams, this Maki would replace my Nico in raw stat, though I wouldn't do that because I like Nico so I'd replace Honoka since her skill is stamina. But I only have 9 gems which means I'd have to spend money. How many gems do you think it'd take to get T2? 20 ? Quote
Ceris Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Don't forget about the ~5 gems you get for event point rewards. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 True. Well either way I'd have to buy 15 gems, 25 gems should be enough for T2. Quote
