Chewy Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 FOOLS Apologize to Uogokoro-kun Weren't you one of the people who were complaining about it? Saying how Locodol was pretty bad? Action, fan service and trains, what's not to like? I can see why some people wouldn't find it entertaining but I enjoy it immensely. I'm hoping for a season 2, I mean if Locodol is getting one why not. I don't particularly fan service anime like most people also stated. Action and trains sound supreme though. Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Barakamon is still great as ever. Even if there isn't much happening, it's still relaxing to watch, and nice to see Handa changing on his path enlightenment. Especially good focus on Naru in the last episode as well. Didn't think of it until the show pointed it out, but now I'm starting to wonder about her parents. Oh man, please don't do it. I don't think I could hold up that well if Naru was involved in some kind of family incident. ;_; Especially not after seeing how happy it was at Naru's grandma's grave. Incoming feels. Quote

SilverLi Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Forever alone watching Sengoku Basara. Polls on anime sites doesn't even recognize it when voting for the best anime this season. Otherwise the latest SAO episode finally went somewhere. I think it is good. Remember how they rushed the first arc and everyone complained. Now they aren't rushing it and people complain again. But I agree they could have showed us something earlier. Quote

MMM i quite like the pacing they have taken this time it feels a lot less rushed and in all honesty the info dumps come over a lot more naturally now. then again i have a personal preference for things that are not in a haste and take thier time to do the worldbuilding properly. wich is one of the the things the new SAO has been doing in all these episodes worldbuilding and setting up characters with a proper personallity. So i think this season is a lot better then the previous. the problem lies with people not having the patience and wanting to see the grand finale as soon as possible. SilverLi 1 Quote

maki~chan Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I am watching SAO season 2, Gekkan Shoujo Nozoki-Kun, Ao Haru Ride, Kuroshitsuji: The Book of Circus, Glasslip These are all I am watching that started this summer I didn't get the point of Kuroshitsuji though, thought they ended the anime when Ciel became a demon, this is from past okay but what's the point? I love Ao Haru Ride so far. Almost the same with the manga though I wanted Futaba's seiyuu to be someone who has a bit girlier voice (She sounds okay but I know this seiyuu from another anime and this is just the same with other chara reminds me of her all the time) SAO liking it so far too I like how they turned Kirito into a girly like avatar haha that was funny I love it when he used his strength with sword he can fight with people who have guns I read huge spoiler about death gun yes kill me For Gekkan, I am watching it for fun. It has some funny scenes. I don't think Sakura and Nozoki will ever date though Glasslip is strange The boy and Touko can see future but now it hurts her? Wonder what will happen So far I like them all Quote

The second half of the first season and the second season was according to the manga. This third season continues from the point it deviated, following the manga. Quote

FinalChaos Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I see thank you very much for explaining! I didn't read the manga Well even I didn't read the manga but did some research in it. I have hardly read any manga, very low interest in comics. Quote
Talsek Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 >SAO Seriously though, guess kirito is getting someone else in his harem. After setting sinon up as an interesting character and all..... Zankyou no terror is really getting good and Aldonoah Zero feels like its plot is finally kicking in. Nope a bad season, cant wait till the OSTs get released,Aldnoah Zero's "i say cry" and both of the eds of above shows sound amazing. Rest is season is feeling meh (yes, even barakamon). Quote

That is why no one likes SAO2. You should have seen it coming and haven't you read the light novels? They are much better guaranteed than the anime. Quote

It is a little strange that they are sugesting she has romantic feelings for him in the anime tough. in the novels she just admires him and nothing more, before becoming good friends. Quote

No there are also a lot of hints in the novels that she likes him especially around the end of GGO and also ALO 2 Actually they are a lot more powerful than suggestions. It is almost as if they were just making her say "I love Kirito" Quote

It is almost as if they were just making her say "I love Kirito" Really? Well it has been a while since i read that arc. But i quite like the way the anime handles it personally. It is nice to see an anime that is in no rush to get out as much story out as possible in as little episodes as possible. it makes for good world building. And a relaxed viewing experience. on the other hand it also makes the series worse if you have to view one episode per week. But it has become more suited to maratoning instead. Quote

Yeah its fantastically excrutiating waiting for ggo to come out and first episode to be just talk and pretty much nothing else. Also you wait a whole week for an episode and all you find is kirito talking or pretty much doing nothikng. In this sense, SAO obviously beats it by quite a margin because there wasnt that much talking and the focus was on action. Quote

So personally i think this season is better than the first. it does not feel rushed and as a result a lot more natural than the first. Sao missed that in that we were instantly trown in a foreign world without the world being build up properly wich in turn made me not care in what world they where in i would not have given a damm if soa had a futuristic setting instead medieval fantasy This time however i do care bacause the ggo world was properly set up. I would have hated it if it sudenly turned into a wild west setting. Quote
maki~chan Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I prefer SAO1 too I actually love it they need to survive it was a survival game afterall so they had to complete the world for me I loved all about the game idea and everything But GGO is just too slow, I wanted to see a few fights in an episode and more action Quote
Insania Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I've watched SAO 1 and am currently keeping up to date with SAO 2. But in all honesty I don't particularly hold it up to be as great as some people. Particularly a few people at my school believe it to be the 'best anime they have ever watched' but I suppose they have different tastes/expectations for an anime than I do. SAO 1 was too fast paced for me, and skipped over a lot of Sword Art Online (the actual game) and cut to the end boss too soon. As I have not read the novels I'm not sure if it is the same but either way the abrupt end was unappealing. ALO arc however seemed to have been even more rushed, and barely skimmed the surface of the game and its lore. (Again I'm unsure of the comparisons to the novels) SAO 2 however has taken the complete opposite spin, and is going far too bloody slow. Minor spoilers in my next point, not sure if I should post this outside a spoiler, despite it being revealed early on... The death game aspect has also been abolished, (like they did in ALO) which was by far my favorite aspect of SAO to begin with. Instead they have the danger represented through the 'death gun'. A cheap imitation if you ask me; but that is my personal opinion and taste, so it isn't really very credible. However I do like the set up of GGO, which is relatively good world building because of the season's pace. But I would rather it happen a bit more immerse rather than getting simple 'this-that' explanations. SO that is my two cents. Needed to get the rant off somewhere and everyone seems to be discussing SAO, so there we go. If I repeated discussions I am sorry, and I am a terrible person worthy of lynching. Quote
