Flutterz Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I just ordered these for work. They're about $800, made by Mizutani - one of the oldest and best shear makers in the world. Japanese steel making in the shear world is number 1. All the techniques they learned to make Katanas using piss poor metal paid off now that they have access to high quality metal. What kind of work do you do that necessitates $800 scissors? Quote

crunchytaco Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'm a hairdresser believe it or not lol. I charge anywhere from $25-$125 for a haircut so in return I need high quality metal to create fine work for my customers. I used to use low quality scissors that would last me for a very short time but also created a lot of split ends on hair. Imagine the pattern you would get using a butter knife to cut through a sheet of paper compared to a razor slicing through. These will be my back up pair by the way. Quote
RinXD Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Must make bank to afford shears for that Quote

Leave it to me to miss the most obvious answer. Shows how long it's been since I've gotten a haircut. also Ded pic Quote
crunchytaco Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 My apologies Leave it to me to miss the most obvious answer. Shows how long it's been since I've gotten a haircut. Don't worry. Everyone here forgets to leave the house every once in a while. I had a writer who came to me for a haircut 2 years since his last one. Quote
RinXD Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Id imagine Crunchy is not apart of a chain Quote

crunchytaco Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I hate to say this but, just saw a Saber Alter you got for 11.95 + free shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nendoroid-363-Saber-Alter-Super-Movable-Ed-Fate-Stay-Night-Anime-Figure-Japan-/291319681119?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43d401905f I just got a $10 coupon for having a seller account on ebay so I just bought this from the same seller for $11.95 Quote
RinXD Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 thats made in china so its a knock off version Quote
crunchytaco Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Everything's made in China these days. Don't get fooled by the shipping. I checked the actual site, and it normally costs ~$50, so that's either a knockoff or a scam. That's actually why I don't use eBay, a lot of people I know got scammed by seemingly legitimate sellers. Not saying the whole site is bad, it's just...I don't really trust eBay anymore -_- Quote
RinXD Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Yeah but amazon removes them if they scam you and quite a few of my figures say made in japan on the bottom Quote
crunchytaco Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Ebay has a money back guarantee. It highly favors buyers over sellers. I sell items on both Amazon and Ebay. The idea that Ebay has a higher chance of ripping you off than Amazon is silly. Ok, if you are buying computer parts from Ebay which is worth $500 for only $25 then you yeah, you're getting scammed. But this is a figurine we're talking about. Quote
RinXD Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Ive never been ripped off by amazon ebay ive been ripped off quite a bit Quote
crunchytaco Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I'm just not going to argue for arguments sake here. Unless you have proof that it's a rip off and that the original Saber Alter isn't made from China then I'll believe you. Otherwise this is bunk. Quote
Ezeefreak Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 So finally I got my first figures (not the one i announced some time ago)... #1 Honoka!!! Quote
crunchytaco Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I got a $25 coupon that'll expire in a couple days. What Japanese things should I buy? Quote

crunchytaco Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Lovely indeed, but I'll wait until I get a bigger coupon in the mail for that. I'm wondering if I should get one of these. Would I get in trouble? They're so well made Quote
Dark Ariel7 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I like the Kosaki one more. A little more modest. From the bottom gorilla girl. She looks really cute there. Overall I vote for top Kosaki. Quote
