Because I do not believe the 3rd movie will ever come out, and because this is my favorite series of all time, I decided to buy Kizumonogatari. Will also buy Bakemonogatari when it comes out in December, as well as the following books as they come out.

I don't know if it was a huge mistake or not, but after mulling over it for days and days, I ended up ordering all 7 volumes of Koe no Katachi

I absolutely adore the manga, but the ending was keeping me from buying it. However, I ended up deciding the journey was still worth it. This manga can be enjoyed regardless of its ending.

Today, i went to a local(ish) anime con with a friend, and i picked up a hardcopy of saya no uta, the first 2 volumes of yotsuba&! and some imported snacks. overall, a good day!

Edit: By the way, that hardcopy was 50 fucking euros, even though it only costs 25 on jlist grumble grumble

I was surprised by how little I was embarassed buying it though, even though it was basically the only stand with any porn, and had a big sign saying 'Interactive hentai games!' and was also surrounded by Naruto fanboys pointing and laughing at the softhouse seal-boobies. I bet they secretly wished they could muster the courage :makina:

Assuming you're talking about the one in The Hague, yup. it was a German guy and he sold a bit of 18+ manga as well. that 'no bags in the dealer room' policy though :amane:

Yeah, things like that actually become pretty easy when it comes down to it. Ultimately, if they have the bollocks to sell it then there's nowt wrong with you buying it :sachi: Good grab of Saya by the way!

...what snacks? :miyako:

I don't actually remember most of the names, but I'm currently eating some yuzu gummies and there's some weird crackers and an empty bottle that contained 100% artificial melon softdrink. one of those ones sealed with a glass ball that drops down and rolls around the top part

I also tried bubble tea for the first time, thinking it was just carbonated tea. that became one of the weirdest drinking experiences of my life.

I'm inexperienced, don't judge me

You mean it's not just carbonated tea?! :pyaa:

I'm even more inexperienced, no judging here!

If the weird crackers are what I think they are though, they're pretty delicious :3

The bottle with the marble is called ramune.

Bubble tea is great, but you definitely need to try different combinations of flavors until you find the right one for you.

... people thought bubble tea was carbonated tea? It's delicious, if you like desserty drinks and tea, and if you can deal with the texture of the large tapioca balls. It's fine for me, but it seems many people find it off-putting.

I actually haven't even had any flavors I disliked, but I'm not too adventurous with it... simple milk tea might be pretty good as a starter, and at least then the only surprise will be the "bubbles".

I noticed that a few of you guys seem like the Overlord anime, but did you guys know that the light novel has begun being localized by Yen Press? The first volume came out a little while ago and I finally got my hands on a copy yesterday. This is my first light novel, so I'm pretty excited to try out the medium. :D It was a little annoying to find though, because my local book store can't decide what section they want to put light novels in. They have some in their 3 different manga sections but then others they treat like actual novels and have them in their respective genre section.

It's a pretty high quality release, aside from the cover art being on a slip cover rather than on the hard cover itself. (The hard cover is just a matte black with the title embossed on the spine.) The pages are a really nice thickness and the art style of the illustrations is very beautiful to look at. (And in full color)  There's even a pull out art print of the main crew that has the map of Nazarick on the back. Boy, is that map going to be helpful in the future, Nazarick is too massive for its own good. At the back there's character's stat profiles for 4 of the characters, it's definitely a nice bonus to see what exactly these character's in game stats are. (It's like I'm reading Fate/stay Night all over again) :wahaha:

I really want to start reading it, but I'm probably going to have to wait until after July 3rd, due to some prior commitments.

If you guys ever feel adventurous with your bubble tea I recommend you try Avocado milk tea. I know it sounds really weird/gross, but it's actually quite nice. There are also other toppings you can put in besides just the tapioca pearls depending on where you go. There's popping Boba that are similar to the tapioca pearls but with juice inside, different flavors of jelly, and even mini mochi.

I remember my first Ramune. I brought it back from Düsseldorf's Japan day. I had no idea how to open it, so I looked up instructions online. I opened it and it sprayed everywhere. I didn't hold it tightly enough apparently. But then I also drank it from the wrong side and the marble rolled back in place and the pressure kept it there again. I had no idea what was going on, I looked down and saw the marble, attempted to push it away with my finger, and the drink sprayed all up in my face. Fun times! :wahaha:

A few weeks ago I was in Taiwan for a class of mine, and in Taipei (not far from National Taiwan University for those of you who are familiar with Taipei's geography), there is this great otaku store that sells a bunch of doujinshi. And a lot of it is stuff from the late 90's to mid 2000ths, which is an era of otaku related media that I have a huge soft spot for. In any case, I manged to find three doujins made by the artist of Symphonic Rain (one of my favorite VNs). So of course I bought all three. Here are some pics:
