SwiftWind Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Forewarning: I have literally very little knowledge of how torrents and programs like Daemon Tools work, but I decided to give it a shot since I've wanted to play this game for ages and am not a fan of watching Let's Plays. I downloaded the torrent on my Mac using UTorrent, and tried to unzip any files I could. Unfortunately, I can't figure out which file I am supposed to "mount" using Daemon or even if this is possible on my Mac at all. Can someone help? Here's an image of the Umineko folder on my computerhttp://imgur.com/j2t3pe8 Any and all help is much appreciated. Thank you so much Quote
Silvz Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I'm no expert, but I think it's alread installed .-. Like, if it weren't, would be only four ISO files [the ones you would have to mount], not all that files from the game, that appear in your picture. Go into "Umineko English" folder and see if you find the .exe file, that starts the game. Did you download it from Fuwanovel? Quote
Zodai Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Having played through the entirety of Umineko, I did not have any mounting to do with this title. The folder names are also different from my version. As Slivz said, did yo download from Fuwa? Quote
Down Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 You don't need Daemon here nor any unzipping, everything is already there and installed. All you have to do is go into the [WH] Umineko English folder and launch the .exe. Although, this is a windows software so it won't work immediately on Mac OS. There are several options that allow you to use windows softwares on Mac OS, and I've found the best and easiest one to be Parallels Desktop. You also need a copy of a Windows OS for that. None of those two are free, you can buy them if you have the money to or get them elsewhere. Parallels Desktop is a very powerful piece of software that will allow you to install a Windows OS (I recommend XP for VNs, it takes much less place and less memory then 7) and launch Windows applications without having to reboot like with bootcamp or without having to tweak a bunch of stuff and be tech-savvy like Wine. It's really easy to use. Maybe look for tutos on google if you can't figure out how to use it. Quote
SwiftWind Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Ahhh thank you all so much! I did download it from fuwanovel but like Down said, it probably doesn't work on Mac OS. I'm going to zip the folder and send it to my other computer, wish me luck guys Quote
