So, as you can see from the SS, I get up to the part where Rin meets Saber for the first time, but then it gives me this error. I do not read Japanese, so I have no idea what it is telling me. I tried translating it using a picture of the characters, but that did not work well. All of the files are not in read only mode (already changed that). Tried running in administrator mode. Tried running in compatibility mode (emulating XP). Region is set to Jap. Specs are also in the SS. Tried just having auto read on for that part, but it did not progress. Tried skipping the scene, but it still gives the same error. Any ideas?

That link wasn't found, or didn't exist. Are you sure you entered the right one?

 

Also, from the screenshots, it seems like you didn't enter a CD key or something, and downloaded a cracked version. The translation team for F/SN actively discouraged pirating, and still do so, through security measures requiring an original disk. You might just have to find another download or something. (Sorry if this is wrong, I cannot read much Japanese )

Yeah sorry that link doesn't work. The game does work I have the Realta Nua version too I think he didn't use the crack on the second image and the FAQ here says the third image shows a "EAccessViolation" and that installing the latest LAV filters usually fixes the problem.

Well you have an error in calling something related to playmovie, so that LAV filter suggestion might not be too bad. The standard advice is to install CCCP when it comes to video playback issues, in case the LAV stuff doesn't work (LAV filters should be much newer, which might help with performance / etc.) It's complicated.

 

Other than that, would be nice to know where you downloaded it from and what kind of process you used after that (patching, etc) if any.

Well, Zaka and GetterEmperor are right. Judging from these screenshots the problem is with codecs. Plus this is exactly the place where 1st opening should start. So uininstall all codec packs you might have and install latest stable LAV filters. But...  it can be a bug too. In this case you won't be able to fix it yourself.

Btw, this issue can be due to you using some opening patch. Last time I chekcked another one (not mine) - it was a total crap. I almost vomited from that disgusting distorted low-res wmv. Only "made in moviemaker" note is missing. (Though don't take this as a recommendation for using my version, it probably won't work unless you're ok with reading Japanese unpatched FSN and still requires LAV filters)

Boy do I remember that blue screen error.  I tried everything to get it working on a couple computers with no progress.  It was 2 years later that I was finally able to play F/SN, and only then because I downloaded the pre-patched version of the game.  I thank the stars for pre-patching sometimes,
