Your Ideal VN Harem

Marie (Dies Irae)

 

The oldest but perhaps the least mature member of the harem, Marie has only recently gained something resembling an understanding of other human beings.  Her willingness to help, her essential kindness, and her inability to understand when she is being made fun of make her an ideal iyashikei for the harem.

 

 

Hinaori Kagome (Comyu)

 

The wary, sardonic, and pragmatic elder 'sister'.  She possesses a deep well of passion and love, that serves as the only light in the darkness of her previous existence.  Nonetheless, no matter how much she loves someone, she won't hesitate to sneer at them if she thinks they are being foolish, and she is strong and intelligent enough that she has no real reason to.  She finds Marie somewhat annoying and she instinctively respects Belche as someone to reckon with.  She and Kaze no Ushiro ni Ayumu Mono get along as well as can be expected from two apparent opposites that are fundamentally alike in certain ways.

 

 

 

Welshalant D Annoyance (Belche) Draculius

 

The 'motherly figure' and second oldest (most mature as well) member of the harem at almost two and a half centuries of life.  She serves to watch over and keep order in the harem, as a font of wisdom, and as a source of gentle but strict guidance. 

 

 

Naitou Maia (Hapymaher)

 

The epitome of the 'mischievous and slightly sadistic but loving little sister'.  Maia, by nature, can only serve as an element of chaos in the mix.  Controlling her becomes one of the prime focuses of her 'sisters', frequently driving her somewhat slow older sister Marie a little crazy. 

 

 

Kokoro (Chenfui) Evolimit

 

The harem's dreamer, a wise young woman who knows the meaning of suffering and has a deep well of strength and kindness that touches those around her.  She is frequently exasperated by Maia's antics and wary of Kagome's moods.  However, she gets along well with Belche and Kaze no Ushiro ni Ayumu Mono, who alternately serve as a mentor and a friend in her mind.  Having been frozen in time due to circumstances which I refuse to spoil, her apparent age is far behind her actual age (she is the third oldest after Belche and Marie). 

 

 

Kaze No Ushiro ni Ayumu Mono (Jingai Makyou)

 

Playful, freedom-loving, and fiercely protective of her new family.  She, like Kagome, possesses an eminently practical - if somewhat odd - viewpoint on life in general.  In her mind, as long as she has food, doesn't have to worry about dying the next moment, has a family to love and protect, and is free to roam, she couldn't be happier.  She is quite fond of Maia, whom she sees as a particularly mischievous cub, occasionally rebuking her when she goes to far, but otherwise leaving her to play as she will.  She respects and fears both Kagome and Belche, not being foolish enough to think she is a match for either.  Like all wolves, if she can't beat the others, she isn't the leader of the pack, so she is quite content to be beneath Kagome and Belche in the harem's pecking order.

So, only heroines, right? Kind of a pity, I'd love going for a bi harem.

Hm~ I made it my policy to only pick one character per VN as well. This type of thing is interesting because of the crossovers.

I'll also be liberal and take any H-able female (or non h-able main character) as a heroine. 

A serious candidate was Hanyuu, but I wanted to keep the morality level of the harem low. Another one was Sakura from FSN, but I don't think she'd work with the harem dynamics- it would probably end in death for the poor girl. Yoruko and Makina are kind of neutral, but they're the type that bends easily- I highly doubt Yoruko would hesitate to kill for her master, and it's pretty easy to change the way Makina views things when it comes to other human beings, especially if her entire group of friends seem to not care about them.

 

Picking Ichina over Suzu was a very tough choice. In the end, it all came down to me thinking getting Suzu to adapt to other human beings while still maintaining the hatred for the species as a whole to be a difficult task with a high chance of not working out.

 

1- Shinomiya Yoruko

Her devotion to Gasai is great  I will always like servant types, where they obediently follow your orders and don't question you. She's the type that probably wouldn't be able to stand some of the girls in the harem but would calm down once you've talked to her. As the most serious one, she's probably a butt monkey, being used to entertain Makina and Ichina and having to hold back tears from all the teasing, but not running to me to solve the problem because she's too embarassed about it. I'd probably keep her around as a guard most of the time.

 

2- Irisu Makina

A student or daughter type. Not really there for the H, I'd just love to teach all sorts of things to this enthusiastic girl. I'd imagine her to tease the serious types like Yoruko a lot. Would probably be in shock for a while, getting her to join the harem would be a gradual experience, destroying some of the concepts she holds first before presenting new ones to her over time. Would get that canon sniper training, she's pretty talented.

 

 

3- Hidaka Ichina

Probably the most important person to set up the mood of the harem. Without her, there would be little to no corruption going on and a lot of "having to shoulder our sins" scenes. A whimsical girl with no morals to speak of, killing for fun and having tons of sex with strangers. She probably joined because keeping up with us is fun, but who knows. The type that would gladly sacrifice someone else, including one of the other harem members, for her own life. Gets sent into missions a lot with Yoruko, and has a lot of fun teasing her and playing around with her prey while at it. Could teach Makina several things. Is very prone to betrayl, I wouldn't even try stopping her from having sex with other people.

 

4- Moran

The cyborg girl. As she is very sharp, she'd probably serve as the main guard of the group. Unconcerned with Ichina, would probably adopt a motherly attitude towards Makina. She's good with strategy, so I'd have her go through all of my plans before I executed them. She's the one who conforts Yoruko when she's too embarassed to go to me.

 

 

This is my harem. In the end, it's a small group very suited towards assasination and sneak attacks. Against other super-powered groups, we'd have a small chance of winning after the first few attacks failed.I could add more people for maximum firepower, but this is a harem, not an RPG party. Dealing with too many people is annoying, so I'll leave it at this.

You have a good point there. Liking a heroine in a game is simple, the difficult thing is to continue to like them a long time after you completed their respective games. That's the difference between "Like" and "Love".

It is actually quite difficult to pick, as I would like to avoid them being all too similar and generally follow the 1 per game policy. Regardless, here's mine:

 

Main Waifu: 

Nikaidou Shinku 二階堂真紅 (Irotoridori no Sekai)

The translucent magician, who shall be at your side until you can find your first love. Although appearing petite, she is a passionate, caring, and mature older sister figure whose relationship surpasses even family bonds. She hates "ecchi" things in general (perverts are even worse). In conclusion, she is the ultimate waifu material and an angel-incarnate.

 

The Remaining Haremettes in no particular order:

Minagami Sakuya 皆神さくや (Tasogare no Sinsemilla)

Nicknamed the demonic sister (魔妹), one of the most unique blood-related imouto that has a stoic personality that enjoys mailing with her nii-san. Caring and calm, but with a jealously mode as well. Consider yourself the luckiest person in the world if you can see her smile, though.

 

Tachibana Ochiba 橘落葉 (AstralAir no Shiroki Towa)

A motherly, caring sister that supports her younger sister of kindergartener age all by herself. The ideal, perfect housewife character, usually calm, reserved and is very friendly, but is a tsundere at heart that is triggered by teasing and occassional embarassment.

 

Fuyutsuki Shigure 冬月 時雨 (Izayoi no Fortuna)

The Classic Tsundere. A less-violent expy of Fujibayashi Kyou, and is the younger twin instead of the elder one. Knowing her circumstances, you can't help but wanting to be by her side and protect her. Proceed with caution, her dere side is destructive. 

 

Mephisto メフィスト (HHG Series)

The devil that will assist you in destroying the world ('s messed up societal discrimination) while masquerading as your lovely little brocon sister. Her personality exactly matches what her identity as a devil, she is calm and likes to tease people (sexual jokes included) as well as seducing her nii-san. Being teased is actually also one of her greatest weakness however, apparently being a devil with a heart of a maiden. Don't mess with her though, her powers aren't a joke.

 

I guess I shall stick to my Big Five for the time being.
