Mikimir Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Since No Game No Life is my favorite anime, I'm eager for more. That said, I already read the light novel so I guess it won't be as exciting as the time I first watched the first season (same with Akame ga Kill, I just can't handle the wait XD). But I'm kinda skeptical since the producer is Madhouse. I really loved their movies, especially Wolf Children (damn good movie, if you didn't watch then what are you doing here watch the damn movie). But will No Game No Life/Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei get a second season? As far as I know, the only anime that got a second season produced by Madhouse is Hajime No Ippo (I'm not sure though). And also, in No Game No Life's end, Sora and Shiro summoned an Old Deus which wasn't even in the light novel(...). Any thoughts? Personally, I don't think it'll get a second season (No Game No Life). But that's just my intuition, I know that the sale of the DVDs decide whether another season will be produced or not but I don't know how the sale was in Japan... Quote
Kimanor Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 No Game No Life will probably get another season depending on how far the light novel gets, which it doesn't seem it will get far. Quote
Dark Ariel7 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 No Game No Life will probably get another season depending on how far the light novel gets, which it doesn't seem it will get far. There is already enough content now. The did 3 volumes this season there are 6 volumes out. Quote
Kimanor Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 But they found a good stopping point. I haven't read the light novel, but it might be more difficult to stop at say, the end of volume 6. Quote
Kaguya Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 But they found a good stopping point. I haven't read the light novel, but it might be more difficult to stop at say, the end of volume 6. Â I've read it. I think it's much easier for them to stop at the end of the 6th volume, actually. Don't know if it will happen, though. It'd be nice if it did~ Quote

I know the end of Volume 5 is a good stopping point but I dont know about Volume 6 yet. Kaguya, did you read a tl or just the original? Quote
krill Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 the sales at this time for the two are  No Game No Life 2014 Spring 8,614 Madhouse  Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei 2014 Spring 11,821 Madhouse   pretty decent sales figures for the two series. very possible they get a new season it mostly, depends on what the break even point is and if they caused a upswing in the source material sales. also some other factors at play are the sales of character and series goods, and series streaming and on air rating numbers. though the last two are relatively less important .  sauce for the sales figures : http://www.someanithing.com/series-data-quick-view Quote
Freestyle80 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Mahouka should get another season next year after the LN goes on for a while longer so they get more material or rather i really hope they do cuz leaving it where it is would be bad xD Quote

Jibril Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Probably yeah, and I really hope so especially for NGNL since Volume 4-6 is amazingly more epic than 1-3.... and Volume 6 is just.... wow..... Quote

crunchytaco Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Don't know if anyone's seen the specials yet, but there's one with an erotic scene of Steph and Sora. Mikimir 1 Quote

Chewy Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I saw one of them poorly translated. I thought I was watching some fan made thing. Then I realized it was a special. Where did you find this shiftily translated special again? Quote
Dark Ariel7 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Where did you find this shiftily translated special again? on a random post on my facebook feed. Quote

Lol I was watching the special with my mother behind me and she was like wtf are you watching She thought I was watching some weird porno or some sort... Quote
Tatsujin Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Lol I was watching the special with my mother behind me and she was like wtf are you watching She thought I was watching some weird porno or some sort... Aww man you should have said "MOM ECCHI IS AWESOME! IT'S THE NEW CARTOONS!" haha. Â Where are the specials? Are they listed on Nyaa? Quote
Jibril Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The specials are in Nyaa or any other stream/torrent websites. Quote
crunchytaco Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I watched it on Kissanime. They have everything that Crunchyroll doesn't. The only drawback is they tend to release a little later into the day. But their HD runs faster than Crunchyroll. Quote
Jibril Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Why on the name of Artosh is the view count for this thread reaches 5k+..... Quote
krill Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Why on the name of Artosh is the view count for this thread reaches 5k+..... Â because ppl who don't want to actively participate are still checking to see if news of a green light to either sequels has been announced yet Quote
Mikimir Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Why on the name of Artosh is the view count for this thread reaches 5k+..... Because people mistakes this post as a season 2 confirm thread not a discussion thread even though I said it isn't in the title. That's my guess at least Quote
EliteShadowMan Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Couldn't care less about NGNL since I didn't really enjoy it outside of Jibril, but Mahouka definitely needs a 2nd season imo. They dicked around too long with the school contest arc, and I feel like nothing really happened for at least half the show. Quote
Jibril Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Chances of both shows getting a second season are pretty low... but all considering, NGNL had way more popularity so there's more chance for NGNL to get a second season than Mahouka not to mention budget for a 12 ep that's more succesful vs 24 episode show that's not as successful...  EDIT: Nevermind that, apparently Mahouka had a lead of 3k DVD sold vs NGNL Quote
