Clephas Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 A list of old/classic anime you personally recommend. Pre-2008 is the basic requirement. The Third: Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo Legend of the Galactic Heroes Heroic Age Noir Ai Yori Aoshi The Slayers (first three anime series) Madlax Full Metal Panic Quote
Okami Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I don't really think that pre-2008 can count as ancient, I mean that's not even 10 years old, and there is alot of anime pre-2008 that are still pretty popular like Zero no Tsukaima, Shakugan no Shana, Higurashi, Death Note, Code Geass and many others. The ones I personally found to be the best pre-2008 are: Zero no Tsukaima Vandread Code Geass Simoun Shuffle! (While I dislike VN I think anime is great) Elfen Lied But there are many more that I think are very good and that I would recommend. Quote

Down Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 >pre-2008 >old Pre-2000 would start to be acceptable for "old" =o Also, Clephas, you already made that thread not even 6 months ago Quote

arakura Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 hmmmmm... I think I have to go with Maison Ikkoku (1984~) Yu Yu Hakusho (1992) Kare Kano (1998) Ghibli - everything (if I had to pick one that has a more classic feel, I'd go Porco Rosso ^^) I guess I consider old to be a little older than 'pre-2008'. I think before 2001 could be called 'old'. 2004 is probably the start of what I'd still consider a fairly current anime. I guess that's wrong, but it's nothing like watching Yu Yu Hakusho or even Kare Kano (barring tragic money issues) cryofrzd 1 Quote

DNA2 Macross super dimentional fortress Juuni kokuki GTO Initial D Hajime no ippo Crest of the stars/Banner of the stars I think Touch is mandatory for those who like old romance anime, is one of my favorites til today, for those who dont like the old style they should check Cross Game that is almost like a remake by the same autor, the story is different, the character different, but all the similar setpieces are there.
