Stray Cat Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Here's some English screenshots for you: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/12/05/atelier-shallie-gets-first-english-screenshots/ Quote
hydro Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I've only played Rorona, but it was pretty fun. I'm more interested in the dusk games, it just sucks the first is English only. My friend has Totori/Meruru, so I may end up borrowing those first after all. more atalier to the people Here in Australia Rorona Plus was inexplicably rated R18+ on the grounds of "High Impact Sexual Violence", despite the original being rated PG13. (The ratings here go G - PG13+ - M - MA15+ - R18+, so it jumped 3 entire ratings). Think of the most graphically violent movie you know, and there's a good chance it got the same rating as Rorona Plus here (might have got an even lower rating, there's a lot of graphic violence in MA15+ movies. E.g. "Saw" is rated MA15+ here). Quote

hydro Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I don't know if that's supposed to be silly or something, but it's funny to me. It's definitely silly, and pretty much everyone who's heard about it has laughed at it. However it's also a little sad at the same time, as it's not some ironic joke. It's the actual ruling of a country's official classifications board. According to them a saccharine game about cute girls is WORSE than this (don't look if you're squeamish): This movie (Saw IV) is rated MA15+, one rating lower than Rorona Plus. It's just the first screenshot I found, haven't seen the movie, I'm sure there's even worse things out there rated MA15+. It's not the only example of the Aus classifications board being laughably inept, but I'll leave it at that as to not stray too far off topic. Quote

Stray Cat Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 So question, if I played the Dusk series first, starting with Ayesha, without going through Arland would I be spoiling things for myself? Quote
Ayana Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Bought Atelier Rorona Plus for Vita the other day, and through playing even very little of it I can already tell that this is something I'm going to enjoy immensely. My previous Atelier experiences were with the original versions of Totori and Meruru, and they were the amazing experiences that changed my outlook on timed challenges (I had always disliked the element of limited time in video games before..). Rorona is qt and I really look forward to the mass amount of new added features and/or elements to this version. I shall keep this thread updated.. Rorona Plus might just hit the nail on the head for me to become an obsessed fan with this game series. (❀◦‿◦) Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I thought you only played SubaHibi. I wonder how much these games currently cost in our retail stores. I seldom see them. Quote
LinovaA Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I only heard of this series a little before Atelier Shallie was announced for getting its Western release. I absolutely fell in love with the opening song "Rusty Sky", and that wonderful green haired heroine (believe her name is like.. Shallotte or something? Someone can correct me if I am wrong.) Been really meaning to get into this series of games. Probably going to start with the Dusk series and work my way from there. Need to finally get my hands on PS3 first though. Been putting that off ever since the PS3 came out. xD Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I just want to start with the Arland ones man. With that being said, I'm trying to find an existing copy of Totori Plus, Meruru Plus, and Rorona Plus. For the PSVita, that is. I do hope I find one. I'd really like to play from there. Though if I had no choice, I guess the Dusk series will do. Quote
LinovaA Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I guess it will just come down to whatever series I find the first game of first. I just really want to get into these games. Seem like they are really fun. Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 The only copy is digital. GG. I don't have wi-fi here. I'll have to work for it! Quote
solidbatman Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Atelier Ayesha Plus releases today for Vita. Digital only as usual for the Plus games (exception being Rorona) Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Wait, wait. Rorona has a physical copy? Guess I'll have to look for it. Quote
AnonP Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Love the graphics of this series. I've been wanting to play the PS3 games. Still saving up for them. xD Anyone played the PSP VN Atelier Elkrone? My sister loves that game. Quote

Oddly enough, Gust didn't actually make this entry to the series. Idea Factory did. I suppose that is why it is considered a spin-off. That and the fact it is a dating sim. Wow, the protag looks like Rorona a lot. Quote
Keaton Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 So I bought Atelier Rorona Plus and so far it has been a good game. Its my first time seeing a game have this time management idea with quests which is definitely cool. So far it has been a pretty good game and I would consider playing others in the series. solidbatman 1 Quote

Darklord Rooke Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Eh I wouldn’t worry too much SB, I heard Gust makes shitty games anyway. Why would you want to spend 500 bucks on OSTs of shitty games? You could always throw that money in MY direction if you don't want it :3 [7:29:38 AM] Bats: Besides [7:29:54 AM] Bats: gmaeplay isnt horrible [7:30:01 AM] Bats: just meh Sorry. Why would you want to spend 500 bucks on OSTs of 'meh' games? Quote
solidbatman Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 Nice job posting an out of context quote. [3:35:13 PM] solidbatman: i love Atelier simply for how laid back the games are [3:35:16 PM] solidbatman: and how cute they are [3:35:26 PM] solidbatman: i freely admit they have short comings in the gameplay department [3:35:34 PM] solidbatman: however, i adore the character interactions [3:35:42 PM] solidbatman: and that is why i honestly play the games Quote
