Allow me to explain.

Moving and creating boards, implementing systems like the awards one or other plugins, like the chatterbox, were very hard if not impossible to do on our outdated server. Coupled with countless other behind the scenes issues.

 

Edit: Someone involved with it may provide you a more technical answer... *looks at Nayleen viewing the page*

To elaborate: Reindexing, quite the heavy task performance-wise, and other tasks when modifying anything in the IPB ACP (our forum software's admin control panel) would easily bring the old server to its knees. The new server also means that I can resume work on the main site, since I didn't have the necessary access permissions on the old one.

Yeah, I was basically thinking of our old server as a car from the 1970s that was falling apart, and our new server is like a much newer, nicer car that runs much better with less problems. In theory of course.
