Scooter Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 I want to start playing this game since I heard it has a lot of choices, an amazing story, and tons of suspense (plus its mystery), but the only thing that's holding me back from playing is is that I heard that there's lots of gore, which usually I'd be able to get through but I heard it was like reeeaaaally unsettling gore (which I may not be able to sit through). If you've read this can you give me some advice on whether to read it or not? Quote
Down Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Well what can we answer except "yes there is unsettling gore", lol. It's not like it's ridden with it though. There are maybe 3-4 short but unsettling descriptions of it and a few investigations of brutal murders including mutilated corpses. It's not awfully visual nor needlessly bloody though. Also I'd suggest reading Cartagra before KnS now that it's available in english. It's its prequel, it's shorter and gives a fair idea of what KnS is, except KnS is a bit more gloomy. Quote

Thanks, this helped a lot. I think I'll just start up kara no shoujo and see if the gore scenes are even that bad lol Quote
nohman Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Pretty much what Down said, really. Obviously we don't know your exact sensibilities, but I wouldn't call the gore in KnS exceptionally disturbing. This is coming from someone whose a pretty big horror movie fan, though. On the plus side, finding the game disturbing might actually better your experience with the game. Quote
Decay Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 The gore wasn't extreme or anything. The worst of it was only described in text with accompanying sound effects. I'll echo the suggestion to start with Cartagra. The story doesn't matter, but KnS had some recurring characters and you will perhaps be a bit more invested in the events if you are more familiar with them. Quote
