Eclipsed Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Btw, whats the proper title / title you prefer the most for Shana? Various wikis I visited vary on the eye description. MAL says Blazing-Eyed though. ie, "Flaming Red-Haired Blazing-Eyed Hunter" (MAL or, "Flame-Haired Red-Hot-Eyed Hunter" (wikipedia or, "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter" (shakugan.wiki Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I'd just go with "Flame-Haired Red Eyed Hunter" or maybe "Crimson Eyed" There is no real correct translation as all of them mean effectively the same thing in English, just pick the one you personally like best. It would be like saying Cosmos, Universe, Everything and World are all potential translations for a concept and euphemism for "everything". There isn't a correct one, its an idea that you just can't translate perfectly. Quote
Nosebleed Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 炎髪灼眼の討ち手 炎 = Flame/Blaze 髪 = Hair 炎髪 = Flame Hair 灼 = masu stem of 灼く which means to burn/to scorch 眼 = eye(s) 灼眼 = burning eyes(eyed) 討ち = To shoot 手 = Hand 討ち手 = Hand that shoots, it's a more uncommon way to say shooter (打ち手). It doesn't mean hunter but in English hunter is probably the most suited word. (Hunter in Japanese is 狩人 or 猟師) Most literal translation would thus be Flamed-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter. Fred the Barber Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Look, just a tiny little thing, but DON'T BE A DAMN COWARD ABOUT IT! Come on, finish the series, even if it's gonna end for you, when an anime's especially very good, it's gonna make you feel better at the end, and (while you will miss it) it's best to just finish it off rather than hold off and eventually forget it. I'm speaking FROM EXPERIENCE! Also, yes, I know you have quite a bit of experience, but still... FINISH 'WORKING!!'! The difference in our viewpoints regarding Chuunibyou was that I went in expecting comedy while you went in expecting drama. That is the real reason why you were more satisfied than I at the ending. ...That sound about right to you? Yeah, it's entirely possible that the expectation difference accounts for the different Chunibyo experience. WRT not watching Working!! season 2 yet: - I'm not being a coward, just savoring the anticipation - I'm also saving it for a time when I've just finished a bad show and need a reliable pick-me-up - It wouldn't really be finishing it anyway, because Season 3 is coming starting in July! sirjabberwock Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I'm watching Durarara!! X2 and what a ride it has been ^^ Shizuo best grill Next up will be Welcome to the N.H.K. once I finish its manga and catch-up on Durarara!! Quote

Lel, it kinda makes sense that way, also THERE'S A SEASON 3 WTF I MUST HAVE I'm watching Durarara!! X2 and what a ride it has been ^^ Shizuo best grill Next up will be Welcome to the N.H.K. once I finish its manga and catch-up on Durarara!! I'm pretty sure the manga has the actual story and the anime's just a teaser. That was the case with Durarara's first season, where they had four manga and the anime only covered up until the third manga. Quote

I avoid Commie like the plague. Anyway, it's on Crunchyroll, maybe not in your region, or maybe you're not looking for the English name it is listed under: "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU" Quote

Nosebleed Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Oregairu Zoku has not been licensed by any streaming sites yet. If it does get licensed the probability of it being available in any non English speaking country is almost non existent. I watched episode 1 of it, was pretty good. I like the new character design although Hiki's eyes feel a bit off. Still doing the same monologues as usual. Yui still best girl. All is well. Also, why so much hate on Commie, the guy gives you all of your Japanese porn yo Just look at these fabulous subs Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I don't like commie or their affiliated groups either. I won't go out of my way to avoid their subs, but it's kinda frustrating how condescending their staff can be (especially herkz), and their trolling can be pretty obnoxious too. I'll only watch their releases if they're the only group with acceptable quality. Quote
Down Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 That's the commie meme cartel for you (Aren't they one of the very few sub groups still alive anyway?) Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Some groups come and go, but commie seems to hang in there longer than others. From what I'm seeing on nyaa right now, it doesn't look like there's any fewer fansubbers than there have been in the last few years. Quote
Nosebleed Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 There's always a lot of fansubbers, but a great percentage are also only doing a couple things once in a while or just have one big on-going project (eg: mezashite subs) they're not really the type to work consistently on subs for several different anime. A lot of them sub one anime and disappear too. The only ones I know are rather big are FFF, UTW, Doki Fansubs, Commie, Chihiro (not as big I guess but their subs are good) and Coalgirls. Of course there's plenty more, but in terms of scale they're usually pretty small and only have one project once in every blue moon. Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 It's too bad Evetaku's not around anymore. They may have been declining in quality with their most recent releases, but they use to be really awesome. In addition to their quality subs, they had great aesthetics (typesetting, kara, encoding). I remember how enthusiastic they were when it came to AKB0048 too. Good times. Quote
Nosebleed Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Started Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso I managed to wait until it was over and resist the urge to watch it when everyone was hyping it. Hopefully it'll be an enjoyable ride. I haven't seen a good romance in quite some time so I'm staying positive. Quote

Eclipsed Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Gonna pull a Tiago and indefinitely stall Shana for whatever reason Will be reading Princess Evangile on my spare time instead ~~ Though to be on topic-ish what other TsundeRie anime would you guys suggest after I finish Shana one day Quote
Nosebleed Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Definitely watch Toradora. Gotta watch the tsundere trio or else it's not complete. Watched 6 episodes of KimiUso Not bad, the music is pretty nicea and i love the artstyle, it all feels like ot comes together. Pacing is really good too, each episode provides just the right amount of plot progression. Not sure how i feel about the characters yet since they all seem to have something going on behind them that i don't know yet. I think this is looking promising. Stray Cat 1 Quote

I warned you. I would recommend Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I challenge you to find the Rie Full Metal Alchemist is a technical spinoff but is also pretty good. I don't do drama, I'm the action category, but ToraDora has tsundeRie, and I honestly can't say anything about it. I will toss it off to Nosebleed who seems to enjoy drama. Edit: Definitely watch Toradora. Gotta watch the tsundere trio or else it's not complete. Shit, totally ninja'd If you really want something as a cleanser, I still recommend Terror in Resonance. For something that isn't on your list, Darker Than Black with an in-between and a sequel. Honestly, the sequel makes everything seem extremely ramp-y in scale, and for that reason makes me dislike it. *sigh* not much decent original action has really been coming out, its mostly been either manga I've read, a harem/ecchi show, or a mecha. I'm running out of stuff to watch Eclipsed 1 Quote

Nosebleed Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Look at all the Louise wannabes While i like both Hidan no Aria and Astarotte no Omocha, they're still incomplete since their source material is ongoing, i usually never recommend them because of that. Everyone seems to be forgetting one of the greatest characters voiced by Rie: Kagura from Gintama I definitely recommend you check out Gintama when you have time. To this day this is still the best comedy anime i have ever seen. Quote
