Ayana Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Finished Gatchaman Crowds. It's a great superhero show that infused me with a lot of optimism. While I've seen its representations done better elsewhere, they were still clear in their novelty within this show, and they managed to reach up to a very high level of appreciation for me. After all, that's probably the one reason I would rate Gatchaman Crowds so highly; on an almost core personal level, I could deeply appreciate the representations this anime makes. There was one particular scene that just sticks out because I will forever personally relate to what its portraying. This is, in my eyes, the greatest feature of Gatchaman Crowds to all possible audiences. The art and audio direction in the show is well-done and done with a style I personally favor as well, ultimately putting this anime in the range between 8/10 and 9/10 for me. Also... SECOND SEASON WHEN???(in about a day it seems LOL) Quote
HotTrax Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 My Wife is the Student Council President! Ep1 Had no idea what to expect or what this was about but did not expect titty sucking from what appears to be the 2 mains. Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Episode 22 tL-Ru Yami's search for an assassin gig was cute, but kind of depressing >.> Surprised she didn't manage to stumble upon the underworld Yakuza, or at least get space email offers . . . . . . . #Unemployed Assassin </3 Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Because of an unprecedented corrupted Episode 12 file from Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, I am once again sidetracked. Now I'm watching Bakuman. I've watched ten episodes so far. I'm loving the show. I like shows that showcase characters chasing their dreams. Also, the OP hits a lot of chords in me. It's strangely soothing. Miho is great. Their romance is so sweet. Goddamnit, it's sad that I didn't get to have a colorful romance like that back then, but it's also great seeing them pursue their dreams for each other too. Holy god. Vokoca Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Decided I would renew my attempts at watching airing anime this season, so I watched the first season of Chaos Dragon and Gangsta, and I am planning on watching most of everything else as it comes out. What I'm planning to do is drop the uninteresting ones after a few episodes. So far, Chaos Dragon didn't impress me at all. You can see that it was a RPG just based on how run of the mill the whole thing feels, plus the bad animation doesn't help it at all. The only thing I liked about it was the amount of character death, so I am hoping for based Urobochi to save this. Gangsta was a much bigger surprise, on the other hand. The OP was stylish as hell, and the episode - even though you could easily call it "edgy bullshit" - was entertaining enough. Kind of looking forward to see more of this one if they keep the quality up. Quote

Kind of looking forward to see more of this one if they keep the quality up. If that is what I think it is, you should read the manga same being. (´・ω・`) Anyway, I'm finally watching animus again after years, I decided to re-watch the bits of the monogatari series I had already seen and then proceed on to the seasons I haven't watched before. May the animu god have mercy on my elitist soul. Quote
Seth Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I'm watching HxH right now and it's surprising how enjoyable it is. I've already read the manga but many parts of the story are much more boring there while the anime performs far better. After I finish the Greed Island arc I will probably take a short break though, because I want to rewatch the first two Fate/kaleid seasons before I start with the soon airing third one (and I still have to finish Gintama at some point... so much to do and so little time ) Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Finished Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. Nothing much to say, except that I feel the need to read the manga. I feel it because, well, I want to see how they'll all cope with their own problems. Still can't find .ass files for Fate/Kaleid Prisma Illya 2wei! SP2. Guess I'll redownload it or something. Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Finished To LOVE-Ru. Fun, rated 7/10, Yami best girl, I actually still don't know who to ship with Rito (if it was Lala's introverted space fever mode she would auto-win. Her tsundere fever mode was cringeworthy despite my love for tsun tsuns. As for Haruna, that girl is just too damn sweet). So yeah, undecided~ Moving onto the OVA, this stuff is definitely like a To LOVE-Ru enhanced edition so far. More ecchi & fanservice, comedy utilizes some good insider jokes, and there are even some touching moments such as the episode dedicated b/w Rito and Mikan. Edit: Drunk Yami > all Quote
MoFried Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Right now, I'm actively following One Piece and Nisekoi: (2nd season). I recently watched the first episode of Blast of Tempest, but I might drop it if it doesn't catch my interest soon. If that happens, it'll most likely be replaced with the Ah! My Goddess series (which I have no idea in which order to watch). Quote
Deep Blue Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 can anyone help me with this anime I cant remember the name...it was about a bunch of girls drawing some anime...it was really bad but I can't remember the name. Quote

Down Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Nah, something doesn't fit here. Shirobako is good so you can't be talking about the same series =o Quote
Deep Blue Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Nah, something doesn't fit here. Shirobako is good so you can't be talking about the same series =o I'm 100% sure, I knew it was going to be very bad when in the first episode the girl started a racing car against his neighbor and after that it got worst Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Episode 1 motto TLR One of the best things about moving onto a new season is getting to see how much the visuals improve Everything is a lot more vibrant and colorful Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I guess "vibrant" and "colorful" are good euphemisms for "more boobs". nohman 1 Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Oops you got me 2 episodes in and Yui got some major bonus points for her mini eps The mini eps format in general is kind of nice since I felt S1 was a bit draggy with its standalone episodes. Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Ooookay. So, advanced in Bakuman and Welcome to the NHK. I'm now at Episode 21 in both shows. I'm really loving Bakuman for some reason. Maybe it has something to do with them actively pursuing their dreams. It's beautiful, you know? The show also depicts various problems that one might encounter in pursuing their dream. It's really nice. This type of romance isn't bad at all as well. I'm really loving it. Started Jinsei and GJ-bu. I like Jinsei more. Maybe it's because Jinsei feels more alive. Oh, don't misunderstand me though. I'm not saying that GJ-bu is bad. It's just that Jinsei appeals to me more. I mean, who wouldn't love those fluttering skirts in the OP? Anyway, I was thinking that GJ-bu's antics were more lackluster than that of Jinsei's. We'll see how the two will go. Also watched Okusama ga Seitokaichou, Wakaba Girl, and Gangsta. Quote
Deep Blue Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I just watched the first episode of dragon ball super, it was actually pretty good. Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Aikatsu episode 100. Wow, everything I've watched led up to this single episode. Thank you Aikatsu for not going down the safe path and giving the fans what they wanted. I'm really sad to part ways with the original cast in season 3, but I'm really glad these 100 episodes ended up providing a good closure for Ichigo and Seira (and the others I guess). This show taught me that everything in life is an idol activity, makes me feel like I'm actually doing something worthy when I watch it God, I can't express how much fun I had in 100 episodes, here's to hoping the next 100 are just as great. 40 more and I'm finally caught up with this show's current episode. I really like Oozora Akari and I wouldn't mind seeing her as a protag, I just hope all the other new girls are just as fun. Pretty sure they'll just be clones of the original cast, but as long as they aikatsu hard I don't really care much. Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Finished Welcome to the NHK yesterday. I got what I wanted. I just wanted a background for Misaki, since she never did stop being that mysterious girl that suddenly showed up and wanted to help Sato get over his hikikomori condition. The last arc was seriously nice, imo. Like I said in the Anime Club thread, sometimes I don't know whether to classify the show as a drama or a comedy. It felt like it was a comedy that thrived on the misfortunes of its characters. Something like that. But I won't deny that it was good. I liked how it kinda gave a glimpse on everyone's problems, and how they struggled with it. They may have not reached the ideal solution that they were going for, but at least they're living. After all, if you're living, then you can try and solve your problems. Quote
Kosakyun Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 ...No post? Then I guess it'll be okay to post again. Well, been advancing in Kuroko no Basket S3. Currently in Episode 73. Holy shit. Something stronger than the Zone? Another door? I don't even know how the fuck Aomine can imagine something like that, but I guess it goes with the other members of the Generation of Miracles too. Not that Midorima and Kise were able to enter the Zone yet. Would really be a nice treat to see Midorima and Kise enter it though. Especially Kise. That guy has pretty much unlimited potential. But damn. What else can you call Akashi but OP? His Zone pretty much kills the game. Going through all five at once? Even though one of them was Kagami in the Zone? Why, that's some skill right there. The difference in build is a factor too. How the heck he does it, I have no idea. I'm curious of how it's like to completely be in the Zone, and I'm pretty much confident by now that Kagami will reach it. Goodluck, Taiga. Started watching Bakuman S2. I have nothing else to say aside from the fact that I'm going to miss Hattori-san. Well, new characters come here and there, so that's nice. I like that they're giving emphasis on Mashiro and Takagi meeting new people as they go about their pursuit of the mangaka dream. It's nice. Also, we got another cutie on board. <3 Quote
Eclipsed Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Finished up Motto TLR I thought this season would be like a huge roadblock in my quest for TLR Darkness but man was it fun. 8/10 Don't gank me but here is my current favorite characters ranking chart. (not a Rito x ? shipping ranking) Yami > Yui > Mikan > Lala > Oshizu > Run > Haruna > Momo + Nana (I bet y'all Momo fans be like 'Just wait till this asshole watches Darkness' )) > Magical Kyouko > Saki & friends > Mio + Risa > Mikado-sensei > whoever else I forgot to mention Quote
Fred the Barber Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Finished Welcome to the NHK yesterday. After all, if you're living, then you can try and solve your problems. I'm a big fan of Welcome to the NHK. All the arcs are winners, but my favorite is definitely senpai's route with its nice island vacation. It manages to be simultaneously the most horrific, the most absurd, and the most emotionally believable (though it has some physically unbelievable moments...) of all the arcs. All of that combines to make the humor of it all that much more potent when it's delivered. The pillars of the series are definitely human drama, absurdity, and humor, so on the "Is it a drama or a comedy" question, I just think of it as a dromedary. Quote
