SanadaShadow Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Madan no Ou to Vandias and Mirai Nikki. I re-watched them cuz I liked them. For Madan, I liked the way they showed the strategies (even if shallowly) and made somewhat interesting plans. Some of the shit had rather clear contriadictions, but for the sake of harem anime, I shall ignore. Mirai Nikki is an anime in one of the genres I truly love. Plus, I realized that I've never really seen it to the end, perhaps until episode 11 at best. Not only that, but I watched it so long ago that I can't even remember Yuuki's name (Only now can I say his name, I've re-watched the anime). It's got an interesting premise not unlike 999 but not the same either. Maybe it's more similar to Battle Royale...? I can't remember what Battle Royale was like either, so maybe that's to be added to the list of re-watching animes. Recently, I've been trying to find a decent harem anime that doesn't revolve around ecchi. It's honestly a difficult task, with all the best ones already watched. In case you were wondering, yes, I do like harem anime. But, I do not like shameless displays like ecchi. It's almost a paradox. Almost. Next Avatar said: Maken-Ki! is just awful. Even compared to the manga which could be said has a pretty generic plot, the anime doesn't even attempt to follow it and just goes "you want bewbs? we have BEWBS! have some more BEWBS!". It's trash tier anime that doesn't even attempt a plot and is better left alone. YES. YES. THANK YOU. I never thought anyone here would have my views on the matter. Frankly, I'm freakin' amazed. Seriously, Maken Ki! doesn't even try. I watched to the end hoping beyond hope that the writers would wise up. But nope. They refused to be smart. They refused to take a risk. And they lost anime lovers like us in the process. Quote
Jibril Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Finished both Magi: Labyrinth of Magic and Kingdom of Magic. Damn that was a good shounen series.... Quote
SanadaShadow Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Ah, is it the one where the kid has a headless genie travelling with him? I've only read the Graphic Novel, so I'm not entirely sure. Quote
XReaper Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 yup it is but that one gets killed pretty soon in the series love both seasons of the anime, same goes for the sindbad ova´s & reading the manga is nice too Quote
Fred the Barber Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I watched the first season of Magi (Labyrinth), but haven't watched Kingdom or the Sinbad OVA yet. Labyrinth was really, really good, though I didn't feel like much had been resolved by the end. I'm curious to see if Kingdom and the OVA tie up more loose ends than they create, but I'm not really expecting much closure from this series. It kicked ass on all other fronts, so I'll forgive it anyway. Quote
XReaper Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 suggest you´ll watch the sindbad ova´s first (4th is not out yet) and then proceed to season 2 of the main story. Quote
SanadaShadow Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 You know, I wish that, just once, an OVA would actually wrap up a good series instead of just providing fanservice. Unless wrapping it up WAS the fanservice. KThnx. Anyways, I'm thinking about starting on Paranoia Agent since I read it here a few hours back. Seems... Weird, but okay. Quote
XReaper Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 honestly aldonah zero´s plot gets more & more stupid, with inaho now turned into terminator modus...bet the 2 little princess will call son goku for backup next episode...damn what a letdown edid: now re-watching Senjou no Valkyria, definitely the better choice Quote
havoc Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 just finished rewatching isekai no Seikishi, Had a ton of fun watching it, despite not being a fan of harem series in general I find myself enjouying the tenchi series quite a lot. Definitly needs a second season altough i dont think that is going to happen anytime soon. Quote
XReaper Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 ange giving tusk her warm pantsu as a good luck charm in the latest episode was my epic anime moment of the year. go go cafe ange! Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 ange giving tusk her warm pantsu as a good luck charm in the latest episode was my epic anime moment of the year. go go cafe ange! Oh god, Cross Ange? I heard that show was just run down as all hell. I would have to pull in a few friends to be able to watch this series. We would be laughing at how comically bad it is. Quote
XReaper Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 nah i enjoy it greatly. yuri x mecha x fights, way better than aldonah´s 2nd season in my eyes. just watch it without thinking too much bout logical issues and stuff Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 But watching Aldnoah Zero completely break physical phenomenon is far more entertaining. That time prediction is SOOOOOO OP. Watching A/Z break logic itself is entertaining, so why would I ignore it in a different series? Quote
XReaper Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 cause the characters in crossange are not so damn stereotypical like in a/z, where i cannot even imagine how they want to wrap up everything in the last 2 episodes, with now another character introduced near the end...dont get me wrong here, i´m still watching it, but what i expected from season 2 regarding the first one was absolutely not fulfilled. let alone the factum that the allmighty vers soldiers seem to act more and more dumber towards the ending. rainsismyfav Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm still awake watching Tokyo Ghoul (just started earlier). I got about 3 hours before I have to wake up for work. FML...... I'm going to be a ghoul later on... くそ Quote
Mugi Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm watching Parasyte, Death Parade, and Assassination Classroom weekly. I do need to start Shakugan no Shana though, and rewatch Fushigi Yuugi. Quote
Kosakyun Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Finished Puella Magi Madoka Magica's anime show. My god. All the despair. Thanks, Gen Urobuchi. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the movies. It's just sad that things ended on that note. Although it might be bittersweet, the bit at the end where Homura seems to wield the previous powers of witches(?) or an absurdly leveled up power of time manipulation against hordes of wraiths make me excited for muh movies. This is also the only magical girl show that took the whole show for the main character to actually become a magical girl. At least, in that timeline. Inb4 Homura is actually the protagonist. Quote

Kosakyun Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I read the manga, so is there any point to watching the show? I didn't like it much either, because it was really boring. Somehow, I don't think Gen really gets a lady's mindset, but maybe that's just me. After all, it's not like I'm a lady, so I don't get their mindsets either. Quote
Tyrael Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 New Saekano episode was pure gold Tomoya: Why are you here, Utaha-senpai? Utaha: Because I didn't get any screen time in the last episode. This anime breaks the fourth wall like it's nothing and I'm enjoying the hell out of it I'm wondering when they are finally going to introduce Michiru , the season is almost over! Kato is still best girl by the way Quote
Kosakyun Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Downloaded Saekano because muh doujin artist girl. I hope for the best. I hope to love the show! Quote

Kosakyun Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Don't judge the show based on its first episode (aka episode 0 or the OVA they released before the real episodes started airing) please. For the most part, the show is extremely self aware and keeps poking fun at typical harem tropes but the OVA is completely over the top in that regard with ridiculous amounts of fanservice to the point where it degenerates into a sort of self-parody. Thankfully, the show itself isn't anything like this. Quote

Tyrael Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 You underestimate me. I downloaded it, so I'll finish it. That's my way of life. So you might see me go Saekano hype someday in the future hahahaha. Quote
