What didn't you understand about the ending? Put in spoiler tags of course in case others haven't watched it. Spoiler It just ended so abruptly with the three of them standing outside an aquarium, I'm not even sure what they were declaring to each other. It seemed like a cliffhanger and that a third season should have been made after. Like, were both girls in love with the nihilistic guy or what? The redhead seemed to be admitting it but the raven-haired girl seemed kind of nonsensical with whatever she was saying. Quote

You're not far off but you need to try to read between the lines since it's a common Japanese trait to never discuss things straight up, especially if someone is unsure. This is nothing but my own interpretation of events and I'm sure others will have read things differently. That's the point of making the ending so ambiguous. There almost certainly will be a third season as the light novels aren't finished yet either and season 2 Zoku ends way before what the light novels are up to. Spoiler In essence this day in the aquarium was clearly a three way date with both girls getting their own time alone with Hachiman. There's a mutual understanding there that neither girl has any claim over him. Hachiman himself is almost certainly aware that they may have feelings for him but refuses to allow himself to believe it given his nihilistic view of the world and his past experiences that make him not believe in anyone. Neither girl uses the date as an opportunity to express any feelings towards him despite numerous romantic opportunities - such as seeing the notice about how penguins mate for life. Outside after the date Yuigahama (the redhead) wants to know what will happen from now on as no one has shown any sign of moving forward. Her main concern is expressed openly - that their 3 way relationship will likely be ruined if they find out how each other feels. Instead she wishes to "have it all" - presumably she wants the friendship between them to continue, but to not let either girl declare how they feel to allow either the contest between the girls, or Hachiman himself choosing. She is basically telling Yukinoshita to not ever express how she feels and she almost concedes. It was interesting to see Yui give him cookies and insist they were only for thanks and Yukino being too timid to give him her package. Note that in no way does this imply that both girls definitely wish to date him, just that Yui is asking her not to be open about their feelings - perhaps it's not both and she doesn't have feelings for him and Yukino does or vice versa, or neither... The ending is intentionally left open-ended, not only with how each person feels, but especially with respect to just what Yukinoshita's request is. This will likely lead to Hachiman "saving" her in the future in some way, as she asked of him that one time in the amusement park. Again this is all conjecture on my part. Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Finally got around to starting on Hyouka, and I really like the mystery elements that are thrown into the mix. It's a nice twist on SoL, or at least it is so far. Plus, the art in it is lovely lovely lovely (particularly good at doing eyes), and Chitanda is straight-up adorable Also finally caught another two episodes of Amaama to Inazuma a couple of days back. I've not really watched any other new anime this season yet, but I'm really glad I decided to check AtI out because it's simply beautiful. Quote
sarayne Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 So I just started watching anime again (like a 7 year break or so) and I'm starting to wonder why it took me so long to come back lol. Currently watching Strawberry Panic, I'm about halfway through and its been freaking amazing so far. Quote
nekomimishinigami Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Pretty much all of these. A few are on hold because they are awful. Edit: I don't know how to add a screenshot....So I'll just say most of what is airing right now plus several others. Spoiler Quote
Bastian77 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Watching Amaama to Inazuma! Not really what to make of the teacher/student relationship but whatever I guess. It's still cute! Quote
ittaku Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Rewatching Lovely Complex. Still one of my all time favourite romantic comedies ever Quote
Mkilbride Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Symphogear on recommendation from a friend. So far, it's incredible generic. Almost should be called "Generic: The Animation", every character, plot device, and episode follows what 10 million anime have done before it. Nothing stands out so far, except for an anime about singing...how bad the singing is, I'm shocked, usually even in awful anime, you can count on good singing, this one...not so much. If this anime didn't have naked girls in pretty much every episode, I imagine no one would watch it. Quote
MFrost Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Watching some Chinese anime's like Yaoguai Mingdan (I love the manga of this more) , Fox Spirit Matchmaker, and Cupid's Chocolate. YM & CC are pretty good considering that YM was made from a low-budget company and CC is just sort of out there, but good nonetheless. Most recent Japanese anime's I've seen have the MC being middle-school aged which is bothersome. Just make it a freshmen in HS like usual or something! it's creepy when the older heroine starts falling for the Junior High MC. But there's always the all-female cast shows, so it sort of balances out. Quote
jetpack003 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Watching Pokemon The Series XYZ. Up to the Kalos League where Ash is in the grand finals. Spoiler I seriously don't know what I was expecting at the end of it all... Quote
ittaku Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Just finished wolf girl and black prince. It was pretty decent. Unfortunately it didn't feel remotely original after watching Itazura Na Kiss which it seems to be a lesser imitation of with the broody cold male and genki ditzy girl combo. Plus INK covers much more ground in its story. Still I enjoyed watching it enough, but couldn't rewatch it with my wife as she'd loathe the lead male way too much. Quote

Considering one of them literally made a topic about his imaginary girlfriend and how he hears and sees her and then got upset with people for recommending he seeks help, I agree. Still. (Well, only forum friends.) Quote
Nosebleed Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Anybody that seriously recommends Symphogear, outside of the "It's so bad/dumb it's good" crowd isn't a particularly nice person. I guess there's the occasional person that thinks it's an amazing original anime. And for those people all we can really do is look down, walk away and feel pity for them in hopes they will one day have a brighter future. Quote
Arkamondal Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 just started watching Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun ....can't stop laughing.... Bastian77 1 Quote

Thing is, I'm pretty anime'd out. I've watched most of the major ones, and I refuse to watch any "on-going" ones, ect. So I dunno. I check BakaBT, Coalgirls, THORA, OCZ, Nyaa, all the time for what seems to be popular, but it's either extreme ecchi or something not complete. Quote
Jibril Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Marathoned Zetsuen no Tempest until episode 13. Needless to say I should've watched this a long time ago. Can't believe I missed such a decently good Shounen anime.... Bastian77 1 Quote

Can't believe I missed such a decently good Shounen anime.... I loved the music and also the Shakespeare quotes from that anime. So much so that I even ended up learning how to play some of the music. Lol but marathoning 13 episodes , I remember having to wait for each episode to come out. Aside from that, I've started to watch the second season of Re:zero. I must say, aside from Subaru, I like it. Quote
Limerence_ Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I'm actually starting on Evangelion after procrastinating for 3+ years. Quote

havoc Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Currently rewatching desert punk, Still as funny, rude, perverted, crazy and silly as it always was. Quote
ittaku Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Finished Wolf Girl and Black Prince, and Emma: A Victorian Romance. Both good watches and added both to my ultimately satisfying list. Rewatching Itazura na kiss with my wife and enjoying it again. It's strange because it's not 'great' and neither are the lead characters yet there's some spark it has which makes you want to keep watching it. Now watching B Gata H Kei. Quote
Mkilbride Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Itazura na Kiss isn't great? I thought it was. Honestly...one of my favorite ever. Because it shows an actual relationship. There are so few anime that too. I mean it shows it all. College, work, kids, ect. All in a cute story. Quote

I said I enjoyed it and kept watching because it had a spark. Its strongest point is that the story actually progresses and doesn't waste the entire anime hung up on tropes that most romantic comedies spend all the energy on. However I never found it particularly funny (just grinworthy), it was mostly predictable, I didn't like the lead hero, didn't mind the heroine but at no stage did I find her clumsy genki nature heartwarming as such and when it was over didn't have that empty feeling you get where you're sad because you're going to miss the characters and story... I didn't want to harp on about what I didn't like originally because as I said I did enjoy it, I just didn't find it great like other people did. Quote
