It's time for battoru impression~

Note: Only from first season.

Story: Battoru/10

7/10

The story in itself contains little originality as it is obvious that it contains inspirations directly from other anime. However the show did manage to built on the story in itself and did not become a direct rip-off. Nonetheless it did have some pacing being stretch out and sometimes lags. One of the positive (or negative?) point of the anime is that it only uses the card game as a mere plot device which smoothly moves the story directly from the first episode. However it is quite obvious that the anime rather focuses on the plot, it focuses on the characters.

Welp. I finished the first season of Selector. I will finish the second season tomorrow, so I will be holding off my rating until then. I'd like to give my thoughts on the show on the whole rather than as two separate series.

Bonus 2.0: For you dense people, LRIG is backwards for GIRL :P

Watched ep 6,7 and 8 of Infector Spread.

It is really becoming over-dramatic. I feel that the drama was more balanced in the first season rather than now. Not to mention that now everyone is in hyper-mode all the time.

It's good to finally know what all was happening but the reason/logic behind selector battles is pretty weak. I mean just because some lonely girl made up a game with her imaginary doesn't make it real, something so 'ordinary' cannot do stuff like removing memories and swapping bodies and turning people in cards. And here I was hoping for some decent cause behind those battles.

Aki-lovely confirmed as a yandere.

Thank you, someone understands.

This is exactly how I felt as I watched season 2, things started feeling overdone/exaggerated more than they needed to be, and the reasoning behind everything was more ilogical than anything else which kind of dropped my enjoyment of the series in comparison to season 1.

Isn't Aki-lovely, truly lovely?

Now I just hope that the ending is well done.

Those blissfully ignorant days when I had seen Akira only in first OP and used to think of her as cute ...........

Wether it's well done or not is hard to judge, but it is a conclusive ending that ties in all the loose ends.

Though personally I thought it could have been better, but it wasn't a bad ending.

I think Akira was lovely even after she went bonkers.

To be honest, Akira was the kind of character I would like to see break(especially after she became Aki-lovely). Now I know I shouldn't be that cruel but you know there some characters you don't really hate but think it would be insanely interesting/exciting to watch them break.

I know how you feel, I thought she was adorable when she broke down~

If Spread is overdramatic as you guys say then I may pass on S2 entirely; I already feel S1 is overdramatic  <_<

I'll give it a go though. Planning on blitzing/marathoning this over the weekend~

...So the deadline is soon right?

I'm on episode four but can't find the motivation to go further. I really like Sato's direction but this dramafest and those characters don't interest me. Bleh =(

The characters were interesting for me though it seemed that the majority of character interaction and development was covered in the first season itself. The character interactions in spread are more dramatic and more focused on the side characters who aren't as interesting.

I'd say Supernatural includes any and all "fantasy" like elements such as magic or just in general non-real stuff so yeah that should work (ie. we're not limited to paranormal ghost stuff only)

I assume we just base ourselves on the MAL tags to determine what is what?

It's not the most logical thing ever but at least it's consistent.

So Inou Battle does qualify.

I feel compelled to mention it's not very good, though :P

Supernatural encompasses the paranormal, ghosts would be supernatural.

To be more precise, anything supernatural is something that goes beyond the laws of nature and physics, this includes, in current pop culture: the paranormal, religions and occultism.

So ghosts, in the sense of astral beings, would be supernatural.

Demons would also be supernatural, just a more specific kind of supernatural, don't know why the hell they get their own separate category on MAL but yeah.

If you just want to go with MAL tags, that one would qualify.

I'll be frank, my voting for Supernatural is just part of my master plan to get more people to watch Shinsekai Yori.  :illya:

Although I do also want to watch something, I haven't had the time to participate in the last two cycles.

I feel compelled to mention that we watched true tears so it not being very good has nothing to do with us watching it also no you.
