Flutterz Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I just watched the 1st episode of Madoka Magica. So far the comedy is average~good. The art is " OMG WTF WHY ARE THEIR FACES SO WIDE". Music is simple/straightforward/normal. Story is cute. Â I think this decides that we watch Madoka instead. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Everything Aoki Ume is wide, Embrace the wideness. Feel the wideness. Become wider. So yeah gigantic eyeballs vs wide faces Take your pick Quote
Kat Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Kek. Watching Madoka. Derp. Haterz guna hate. Who gives the end decision anyways? Quote
EldritchCherub Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Well, this is awkward, we still haven't reached a concensus. Stray Cat, come over here and swing your gavel already! Quote
Shikomizue Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Alright, somebody has to break down and vote for the other anime. Otherwise this madness of anime purgatory will go on forever! Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 If we're going for Madoka, can we watch the movies instead of the TV series?  The quality of both the visual and the sound is obviously superior, and since the sequel to the TV series and the movies is also a movie I think it's a better choice overall.  In terms of length the movies aren't much shorter, and obviously the movies focus on the important bits whereas the anime does have some filler here and there. The TV series is 4 hours and 30 minutes long (not counting the OP/ED) The first 2 movies are 4 hours long combined.  And then I'm assuming we'll watch the 3rd movie after, which is much easier to watch after the movies than the TV series because they made the movies into kind of a trilogy so it has a slightly better follow up. Quote
Down Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I'd advise for the series (having watched both). What's being cut in the movies (e.g. the first scene of ep 1) isn't really cleverly chosen in my opinion. The bluray version of the series has the same sound quality as the movies and although some backgrounds did change between the two, the backgrounds of the series blurays are better than they were in the TV version and pretty top notch. The difference with the movies isn't really significant. Â Then again it doesn't change much, we could just let anyone do what they want. Â If we do settle on Madoka I'm not sure I'm gonna watch it again (I've seen the series twice and the movies once, and Rebellion twice too...) but I don't think I need to to discuss it. Although it's been discussed to death everywhere already. Kat 1 Quote
FinalChaos Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Madoka Magica ftw I haven't yet watched it(yes such a thing is possible) and heard that it's really good while it is first I heard about Karin. Stray Cat Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 It's Madoka.  Watch either the series and the 3rd movie or all the movies, I don't even care anymore.  Be done by March 14th.  Guys.... I think we broke him.  "Check out "Black Cat" by Kentaro Yabuki."  I also thank you for adding ANOTHER anime to my already gigantic list. NO! NO!!!! I'M NOT UPSET!!!! Quote

Nosebleed Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I guess it's fine wether it's the series or the movies since the story's the same. Â I'll watch the movies since i don't care to re-watch the TV series. Though like Down said, this has already been discussed to death so I'm not too thrilled about it, well we'll see. I'll probably care to notice things I didn't notice before, if there are any. Quote
colekitt Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Arg I hope the third time I attempt to watch this it is going to better still haven't made it through the first episode but I have 3 weeks so maybe 4 episodes a week. Or no episodes for 2 and a half weeks then 12 on the last day. Quote
Eclipsed Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I guess for Art / Music in the review section just put whether you watched the anime or movie (or both) when doing the review. I watched the movie(s) already, so this time I'll 'rewatch' the anime/TV ver. and then watch the 3rd movie. Quote

Kat Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Does this mean that I can pick the next theme? :} can someone tell me the previous themes? Quote
Shikomizue Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I believe that you can pick any other genre, just not Magical Girl. Quote
Kat Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I'm just curious. Please tell me. I must know. No matter what. Quote
Nosebleed Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The person who's anime got picked gets to choose the next genre. So Flutterz is the next one picking. Quote

Stray Cat Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Flutterz picked Magical Girl, now it's Kat's pick. Â Â Past cycles have been Mystery, Romance, Psychological, and Random. Â The only thing that matters is that it's not the same as the last cycle. Â Quote
