Roach Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I never drop an anime, I just stall it for a loooooong time. I don't know why, maybe because I don't want it to end? -_- Some examples (and where I stalled it): Shingeki no Kyojin (Ep 17) To Aru no Majutsu no Index (Ep 20) LoveLive! S2 (Ep 10) Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo (Ep 22) I also do this for game. Who knows how many games I have played where I stopped right before the final boss. Quote
Stray Cat Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I have to say this almost sounds like the coitus interruptus of anime. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I'll do it if an anime takes a turn I really dislike. Most often this is due to rapid adaptation decay. The most recent example I have of this is Akame ga Kill. It followed the manga pretty faithfully until nearly the end, but then within 2 episodes it completely jumped the rails and went anime original. I stopped watching after that. Quote

RinXD Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 For me its generally because at that point in time the anime takes a left turn into wtf-ville so I just stop watching Quote
Stray Cat Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I'm not sure if this checks out given what coitus interruptus means, lol. I did say almost. Quote
Hypotrek Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 One anime I dropped, or stalled I guess, for a while was Sakura Trick. Not cause I have a problem with yuri, but because SO MUCH DAMN KISSING . Honestly, I muted an entire episode and just read the subtitles just so I didn't have to hear the kissing. I eventually got around to finishing it, but that was a chore. Mr Poltroon 1 Quote

Eclipsed Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I actually stopped Accel World at Episode 20 / 24 because I was sick of Noumi. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru is also stuck on 9 / 12 cuz I'm currently hooked on Fuwanovel Anime Club's Shinsekai Yori (I can only watch one anime at a time) Quote
ExtraMana Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I've really wanted to make this thread for a while now, even if it is ridiculously specific and not so much about anime, so I don't care what forum this ends up with. So, the thing is exactly as I said in the tittle. I've come to notice over time that I always get bored or stall or drop my anime right before I finish. If it's got 13 episodes I stop at 9 or 10. If it's got 24 I stop at 20 or 22, and similar shenanigans. This isn't always the case, obviously, but it does happen quite often. Does this happen to anyone else? I drop most anime within the first episode. The way I see it there are more series than I could ever watch so I may as well look for quality. I also have done this dropping anime near the end. I did it with the Hyperdimension Neptunia which although had plenty of meh scenes I really liked (as is obvious from my profile). I recently went back and re-watched the entire anime to the end. I was watching Genshinken. I got to episode 13 of I suppose 25 or 26, the art style changed which isn't neccessary a deal breaker, I dropped it since I've got nothing to watch currently I might try it again. I been looking for any anime that references 'otaku' culture directly and it's slim pickings. I digress but I rarely finish an anime. I never drop an anime, I just stall it for a loooooong time. I don't know why, maybe because I don't want it to end? -_- Some examples (and where I stalled it): Shingeki no Kyojin (Ep 17) To Aru no Majutsu no Index (Ep 20) LoveLive! I did this with mass effect 2, dropped over 25 hours into the game right before the final level I was like, nope done. Quote
Ceris Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 There's like a threshold of how close to the ending where I won't drop an anime. If I finish 9 episodes of a a 1cour, I'll finish it, anything less is candidate for drop. 2cour is like 20 episodes, and I don't really watch anything beyond that in length. The thing is, I'm always ready to drop stuff, if I don't watch more than 3 episodes of an anime before I drop it, I won't even put it on my MAL, so there's only a small window where you'll find something on my dropped list. Nobuki Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Almost all of them are dropped around ep 9. Kotoura-san - The story is getting pretty boring. Elfen Lied - TOO MUCH BLOOD, and also when I see blood my body gets weak so yeah. SAO 2 - Same as Kotoura-san. Oda Nobuna na Yabou - Boring and I HATE HISTORICAL ANIME. Hanamonogatari - Disappointed in all ways.. Kizumonogatari - SAME. Quote
