Down Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I suggest the 50 chapters per week rate because it sounded like a good compromise. Some people have work/school/social lives/other things to do, and there are also people like me who don't like bulimic consumption and prefer to take it a slower pace/alternate with other hobbies. Nosebleed Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Alright a poll has been made. Make sure to leave your vote. I feel like i should have picked less than 5 given the amount of suggestions and people participating now But I'll keep my word of 5. In the end Hayate no Gotoku was the only one left out Which is a shame, I kind of want to read it but oh well maybe next time. Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 RIP my chance at reading it. Oh well. I'll just recommend it again next time. Quote
Snowtsuku Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Oyasumi Punpun looks interesting from the Synopsis. Quote
Nosebleed Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Oh boy, conclusive polls I really would appreciate every participant voting. If there's still a draw i'll have to toss a coin. Quote
Kosakyun Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Is there a three-sided coin in this world!? Quote
Snowtsuku Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I can break the tie, if non members can vote. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 The voting is meant for those who are participating. The two people who haven't voted are Jibril and Kendjin. If you don't vote until tomorrow (and no one changes their vote) i'll randomly draw from the top 3 most voted. Quote
Jibril Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Nobody voted for SnK Oh well, I voted for Liar Game because I wanted to read it eventually anyway~ Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Alright, everyone has voted, the manga we'll be reading is Liar Game And with perfect timing because Liar Game just finished translation yesterday so we can read the complete manga. With 201 chapters of about 20 pages each, I'll give you 4 weeks to read it as of today (so until March 1st) If everyone finishes earlier than that we can always move on to another manga. Looking forward to the discussion and I hope everyone enjoys the manga~ Quote
Kosakyun Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 4 weeks, eh? I'll go kick myself in the balls if I don't finish it by then. Quote
LinovaA Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Damn that is a lot of time. I can probably plough through it in a week with my current schedule. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 I'm being lenient with time because I don't know people's schedules/availability. I can easily read this entire manga in a week too but everyone has different speeds. That's why I said if we all finish it we can move on Quote
Kosakyun Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Thanks for that. The 4-week time limit will really help me. My schedule really ain't that good. Quote
LinovaA Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Definitely good to have. The only reason I can plough through it is because my area is just being bombarded by snow and some of my classes are probably gonna be cancelled.. Again. Will be starting tomorrow sometime. Quote
Kosakyun Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I'll be starting sometime in the future. Maybe on Wednesday or something. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 At first i thought i'd come to hate the main girl, but being ultra naive seems to be her quirk and the manga handles it rather well so i actually kind of like her. The male MC is a badass, hope to see more of his brilliance. I actually don't think i've ever seen any series where the MC is an ex convict. Really want to know more about him. It's also the blance between the two that makes the situation more bearable. The game aspect so far has kept be hooked, i really like this sort of social experiment type of games. Really haven't seen a series focusing so much on this. So far, great first impressions, can't wait to see more games. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Day One: obsessively organizing all of the files into a format I can readily peruse on my tablet. Method: combination of Manga Crawler, Advanced Renamer, 7-Zip and a few arcane utterances inputted in command line. End Result: 19 cbz files to cover each volume(last few dozen chapters guessed at since no official volumes are available yet). The world is in order; I can rest at last. Now to start reading while I take a luxurious bath in my tiny, cramped Japanese bathtub. Quote
The Major Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 18 chapters in and I feel like I've seen this facial expression roughly 500 times by now. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Nao's shocked face is priceless though. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Had a good laugh in volume 2: Nao: "What exactly is S&M?" Shinichi: "It's kind of like defense and offense. Just think of "S" as the attacker and "M" as the defender." Quote
LinovaA Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Just went through Vol. 1. Definitely glad for the extra time now. Haven't had very much time to read in the passed few days. Just gotta say that Nao's shocked face is probably one of the best things ever. Oh and her old teacher dude creeped me out. A lot. Quote
Nosebleed Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 I'm actually reading this slowly too, I'm currently up to chapter 25. I feel like that shocked face has started appearing in more characters now, this author seems to have an obsession with it. Overall, still good, I'm really curious as to what lies at the end of this Liar Game. I also wonder when Nao will stop being so incredibly naive. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I may have to force myself to slow down a bit. I just finished volume 6, and I could easily finish the manga within a day or two even with my work schedule. Nao does get better, though. Quote
