miyako is bloody cursed.......CURSED! first the original translator vanished then you pc files disappeared....at least we dont have to retranslate....oh well keep up the cur-*cough* good work

That makes sence, for some reason her route was the last to get translated and in game

she gets rejected in all routes.

But her time will come, for sure.

I understand why he's saying it though, the project is slowly winding down there isn't much point in adding new people to the project now, As for the QC he's already gone through most of it once before so he already knows most of what needs to be fixed......

Well, that and people keep trying to tell him how to do his job or offering to do his job (the implication of which is that they could somehow do it faster). I'd be on kind of a short fuse, too.

In my (limited) experience, the guys who QC and edit quickly do a fairly shitty job. I'm not saying that because you're slow you're good, but I've never come across a person who was good while also being fast. So I'm glad Ouraibaa is rebuffing those who're volunteering to try and speed up the process.

i feel like if some enthusiastic people get some instructions from the higher ups here, they can do it faster + move on to majikoi s, or am i missing something here (sorry im new)

They said that they don't know if they will translate Majikoi S. They're focused on the prequel first. Nothing more, nothing less. Those games are quite big, this is a lot of work. We've got to be thankful because this is really rare that a team continue to translate a game that another team gave up. Many translations project died with the team with nobody to continue.

Mods, forgive if I'm going off topic a bit, but:

 

To expand on this a bit: MajiKoi's script is 27 files. MajiKoi S's script is 264 files. The logistics of finding what is and isn't done in that game would be a nightmare. Simply finding out what is and isn't translated, and which files belong to who, would be a very extensive job. It would then need to be translated by extracted script, rather than each whole route.

 

The original game, while a massive undertaking in its own right, pales in comparison to S. I imagine the A games a bit simpler, due to only have 3 absolute routes with nothing in common and no side routes, but I'd have to open up the script and look.

Okay, well, first of all more people does not always mean faster. That is project management 101. And you typically only want people you know who can produce good quality work to actually work on a project. It can be counter-productive if someone who is poor at english starts editing scripts and they have to go back and redo things. There's also a matter of style, having a dozen people editing scripts can make for some really inconsistent results in the final product, a particular character could end up with a different way of speaking from scene to scene for example. There are other reasons why this is a bad idea but this is the gist of it. 

 

They've already enlisted help where it makes sense. Otherwise, wait and be patient.

It's his job. and it's only Miyako's route that needs to be QC'ed so why bother?

 

 

 

I don't get why ou have to put a spoiler tag on that. It's pretty obvious that she'll get rejected in the other routes

ahm like mentioned above, in 99% of all cases, when you enter a specific route then the other competitors for the mc´s heart get normally ditched. thats why there´s no need for spoiler tag

i literally have too much free time, i can spend up til 5 am every day doing it.

 

also, i've been following on this for a year now, if i can somehow get this done faster, I WILL DO IT!!

because, MY PC IS THE PC THAT WILL QC TO THE HEAVENS!!

Sorry friend there's no "believe in the me that believes in you" here and QC to the heavens, how does that work exactly......do you QC until you or your pc dies or something?

Shouldn't be so difficult. I tested some days ago and i think i can extract the text of S like in Majikoi, so instead of the translator creating a .txt with the text, he can directly translate this files.

Since you know that the answer is already no,why do you keep asking to help?

The QCer is nearly done,so you wouldn't really speed up the process,it has been already noted that a QCer can't be both fast and efficient(technically he can,but most if not all aren't both) and you are trying to take his job/tell him how to do his job,which obviously frustrates him.

Just leave it as is,i'm sure that he can do his job without your help.

.... guys, might not be my right to say this but, let's leave the task to those who's been doing it till now and stop these "about-to-go-off-topic-arguments" posting here and just sit tight until Ouraibaa-san (or any of the teams) gives more heartbreaking updates~ :yumiko:

Did you figure out how to automatically locate the text? I can't seem to do it without hard-coding the location within each file.

You can insert the text of Majikoi S into a prepared majikoi file for the unpack, and after the recompile, manually insert the text into the majikoi S original file. It's easy enough because the text in the .bin begin and end similarly. I haven't fully tested it yet but there shouldn't be problems.
