Kyuubi Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Hey, i download the Visual Novel 'If My Heart Had Wings' and the Patch for the uncensor Scenes, but it doesn't work for me.. 1. Install it in the Desktop 2. Copy and Paste it in the installation Folder 3. Run the Bat-File 'apply_diffs.bat' and if i start it it now normally, it's still censored, do anybody know why?? I have Win 7. Thanks. Quote
Kyuubi Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 meh failed this post, ignore Why??? I need help Quote
CapnBlaze Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I need assistance as well but this is the wrong area for the thread. Here is where the current requests for help are: https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/1461-kono-oozora-h-scenes-porting-project/?p=233557 Quote
Reeeeeen0690 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I had posted over in that thread but as this is the correct area for it. Here is my post from there. Due to recent computer issues (massive virus had to reformat drives and lost everything) I had to have another go with installing the VN. Several hours of it gave me the old errors again, no permissions, system cannot find the file specified, etc, you've all had this. Eventually I managed to get it working. Without needing to set your system to Japanese. While I did manage to get this working on my PC I have not yet had feedback from others I have attempted to help. In addition this guide was written with me attempting to remember what took me some hours to achieve, so uh...no guarantees. I'll detail the steps I followed and hopefully you may have some success. First download and install HF Applocale 1.1.2 Next download and install the Moenovel version. I installed it straight to C: under the folder "if my heart had wings" https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22064793/Screenshot%202014-12-30%2013.19.33.png Next copy all the files from the restoration patch into the folder and run apply_diffs. let it run until the message "press anykey to continue" appears, it may take a while. run the game in english just to get this box https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22064793/Screenshot%202014-12-30%2013.22.35.png tick the box for "dont display this dialog at next startup" close the game run applocale (you may have to find it) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22064793/Screenshot%202014-12-30%2013.25.39.png follow the steps, selecting "launch an application" browse your "if my heart had wings" folder and select AdvHD next select the language at the very bottom should look like this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22064793/Screenshot%202014-12-30%2013.28.49.png click "create a shortcut to always run this application with AppLocale" title it "if my heart had wings" and click finish. at this point for me the shortcut didnt actually appear on my desktop or anything, I'm on windows 7 so I typed in the search bar on the start menu for it. its the .exe file without the icon for the VN. drag it to your desktop. double click to open and viola! I have had reports from some that say this works and other that say it doesn't. (Thanks Kyuubi and CapnBlaze above for the feedback) Installing the patch seems to be very hit and miss so I can only post what worked for me but that's no guarantee it will for you. Best of luck Quote

CapnBlaze Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I just realized I never posted in the tech support thread ::sigh::. Here is my plea for assistance: 1) I've been having trouble installing the patch. I try running it as normal or as admin and get the errors listed below. I copied the patch files to where the program installed before running the batch. Set to Japanese. 2) Also any ETA on the new patch mentioned in previous posts? 3) Finally where would it would be appropriate to mention the dead link in the Browse area for "If My Heart ..." on the main site. There is a link to a new batch file that gives a 404 error. Any assistance with the above would be appreciated - thanks! ===================================================================== C:\WINDOWS\system32>xdelta3.exe -d -s CHIP4.arc Chip4.arc.diff chip4.arc.new 'xdelta3.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Zakamutt Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I think your bat file might be in the wrong directory. You need to put it in the same place you put IMHHW in before running it. Quote
Nayleen Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 C:\WINDOWS\system32> Would be my guess for the culprit, wrong directory. Navigate to the IMHHW directory using the command line (cd) or, if you don't know how to, Shift+Right Click on the explorer window while you're in the folder and click "Open command window here", then run the thing. CapnBlaze Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Thank you for the wonderful suggestions - the diagnosis was spot on but the solution wasn't quite there. I did some research on batch files and here is what I learned. Windows (being oh so helpful .... not) changes the directory when you run a batch file as admin. The solution is to open the batch file as a text file (right click select edit will work with Win 8.1) and add the following line at the beginning: pushd "%~dp0" Right click the batch file and run as admin - should work like a charm. at least it did for me. By the way the batch file takes a few minutes to run with many pauses - wait till it says 'click any key to continue'. That's when it's done. Now with a little luck the game will run as it's supposed to - yay! Quote
Zakamutt Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 oh yeah don't run bat files as admin usually actually good job researching. I actually did bat files proofed against this error for the stuff I worked on, some later fuwa releases not by me should use that trick as well (well, possibly not in some edge case because god knows consistency is not a windows feature at times and the lol things that have happened at times are amazing I should finish this sentence) did you know that the windows default program (reg) we use to add registry entries for bat files can, in rare cases, have been fucked up by some virus or whatever? or that very occasionally, the directory it's in won't be in the PATH variable probably because of the same thing? That was one of the weirdest troubleshoots I ever did but I guess this one isn't Quote
wan KCT Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 what should i do when the character went missing after i run the apply diff and run the game? Quote
CapnBlaze Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 what should i do when the character went missing after i run the apply diff and run the game? If you mean that a character image is no longer displaying, my first response if it happened to me would be to uninstall everything and reinstall from scratch. There are others more familiar with the nuts and bolts though that may have a few things to try first though. Quote
wan KCT Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 i have already try to uninstall and install it again but still the same thing happen. Quote
CapnBlaze Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 This may be a silly question but do you have your locale set to Japan? Quote
wan KCT Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 that was lol XD and yes,i already set it into Japanese Quote
wan KCT Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 btw,did any of you get this problem too? Quote
CapnBlaze Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I saw it come up for some other people on forums outside of Fuwa when I was researching my issues. I didn't read up on it though as it was not my issue. Quote
wan KCT Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 at least your issue is not like mine,it troublesome TAT Might trying to search how to solve this one ....if i lucky enough to find it XD Quote
