Is it impossible to get a physical copy of all of Lucky Star for a reasonable price?

I'd assume the entire show for something under $100.  I mean, holy crap, have you seen how much they charge for a bluray series now?  For two episodes its something absurd like $20, meaning an entire cour is something like $140 with a full two cour show being around $300.

Bandai used to hold the licenses, but they went bankrupt, so it's hard to even get a copy of their release, and from what I understand about Bandai, they were presumably very high-priced to begin with. I didn't hear about this when it happened, but apparently Funimation acquried the rights to Lucky Star last summer: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-08-09/funimation-licenses-haruhi-suzumiya-lucky-star-anime-strike-witches-steins-gate-films/.77477.

I doubt they are just going to sit on those rights - there'll almost certainly be a release at some point, and probably at a rather attractive price point given that Lucky Star never did all that well in the US. Hard to guess whether they'd do a DVD-only release, or whether there'll also be blu-ray, though, if that matters to you. Blu-ray discs are expensive to make, as I understand, so they may just go DVD-only. Either way, you can bet it'll be a hell of a lot more affordable than the Bandai releases, when it comes, but there's no telling when it'll arrive.
