Kosakyun Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 It depends on your definition of reasonable price, really. Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I'd assume the entire show for something under $100. I mean, holy crap, have you seen how much they charge for a bluray series now? For two episodes its something absurd like $20, meaning an entire cour is something like $140 with a full two cour show being around $300. Quote
Soulless Watcher Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 On right stuff it's like 50 bucks for a DVD set. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Bandai used to hold the licenses, but they went bankrupt, so it's hard to even get a copy of their release, and from what I understand about Bandai, they were presumably very high-priced to begin with. I didn't hear about this when it happened, but apparently Funimation acquried the rights to Lucky Star last summer: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-08-09/funimation-licenses-haruhi-suzumiya-lucky-star-anime-strike-witches-steins-gate-films/.77477. I doubt they are just going to sit on those rights - there'll almost certainly be a release at some point, and probably at a rather attractive price point given that Lucky Star never did all that well in the US. Hard to guess whether they'd do a DVD-only release, or whether there'll also be blu-ray, though, if that matters to you. Blu-ray discs are expensive to make, as I understand, so they may just go DVD-only. Either way, you can bet it'll be a hell of a lot more affordable than the Bandai releases, when it comes, but there's no telling when it'll arrive. Quote
