Chewy Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 A friend of mine recently wanted to try out Vns but when asked for recs, he added it had to be short, not too many choices and no H-scenes. He has watched anime but Vns are a new concept. Please help Quote
LeBlanc Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Narcissu, True Remembrance, Planetarian, Nanolife. Quote

Zodai Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 If you count Umineko's individual episodes as separate games, you could technically call it short. The Higanbana chapters would work as well. Quote
Chewy Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 Sunrider, Fault Milestone: One, Higurashi, Saya no Uta. Narcissu, True Remembrance, Planetarian, Nanolife. Planetarian, Narcissu, Phenomeno. Thank you guys, thats plenty Quote

Wonderfullyevil Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 If you count Umineko's individual episodes as separate games, you could technically call it short. The Higanbana chapters would work as well. But Umineko's 1st Episode feels longer than the rest combined. XD Higanbana's short, but pretty polarizing, so I wouldn't recommend it that much. Everything I wanted to recommend has been already, but I'll mention Phenomeno again because I loved it. Quote
Novel21 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) I Would recommend Princess Of Ruin and Frozen Essence, its not short but easy to read and it dont have sexual content. Oh yes I forget this game http://hitzwarez.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=59422. Its short and dont have many choice or ending but its very good game to play Edited April 25, 2015 by Novel21 Quote
Getsuya Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Symphonic Rain. It's a rhythm game too so it's not all just reading. Easier to ease people into the genre with. And it's 100% no H. Quote
Deep Blue Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 1000 W0RDS you don't even need to install this "vn" Quote
Regenerate Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 If my heart had wings, the steam version, pffffffft I would never recommend a steam version of any game that could have 18+ scenes, but the story is good in retrospect, even with the h scenes cut out. It is still enjoyable, just feels like you aren't rewarded. Lol. Quote
CatSoul Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Saya no Uta. Saya no Uta is like the troll recommendation for this guy. It's got guro/rape on top of loli H-scenes. Great for any reader who can handle it, yes, but not someone who's a complete newbie and anti-H. Quote
astro Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Hadaka Shitsuji had a heart-wrenching storyline that had me drowning in tears near the end of the game. Quote
Deep Blue Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Why, why all the vns that have adult protagonist and good plots are yaoi ones not that i have anything against yaoi it's just not my thing sadly Quote
